European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn and the presidents of the Serbian and Kosovo chambers of commerce, Marko Cadez and Safet Grdzaliju, on Tuesday condemned in Brussels late Sunday’s attacks in the Kosovo-Metohija village of Gorazdevac in which shots were fired at a Serb family home and the property of local Serbs damaged.

In a democratic country, words and opinions are exchanged, not violence, and that is something everyone needs to learn in order to have European prospects, Hahn said.

“We really cannot discuss these (business) topics and normalisation if shots are still heard and the situation on the ground is unsafe, unstable and risky security-wise”, Cadez said.

The news of the violence in Gorazdevac is very negative, politically and timing-wise, at a time Serbia and Kosovo are trying to promote the region, Grdzaliju said.
