Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic on Monday received a farewell visit from outgoing US Ambassador Michael Kirby, thanking him for his support for the development of Serbia-US military cooperation.
The level of the bilateral military cooperation remains exceptionally high despite budget cuts, with military-military cooperation as the most developed segment of the relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
They particularly stressed the results of the defence system reform, the Base South development project, equipment and modernisation of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) and joint training.
They also noted the significance of education for MoD staff and SAF troops in collaboration with the US.
Gasic particularly thanked Kirby for his personal engagement in the post-flood recovery efforts in 2014.
