March is traditionally the Francophone Culture Month in Serbia, and this year it will comprise culture events in around 20 towns across the country, it has been said at a media conference on Monday.

This year’s Francophone Culture Month will encompass movie screenings, concerts, exhibitions, debates, and traditional French-language competitions.

The events will take place in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kladovo, Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Novi Pazar.

Noting that Serbia joined the International Organization of La Francophonie in 2006 as an observer, French Ambassador in Belgrade Christine Moro has said that French is an official language of the United Nations and the European Union, and very important for business.

Moreover, it promotes democracy and huRman rights, she noted.
