That it’s a city with a thousand faces, Belgrade has proven a million times. Recently, it has done so yet again! With a little help from Mirko Nahmijas, a talented and creative Belgrade-based photographer, Serbia’s capital has this time decided to show us its “Star Wars” side.

Minimal Belgrade is an artistic series by Mirko Nahmijas and it depicts some of the most prominent pieces of Belgrade’s mid-twentieth century architecture.

Often called Socialist Modernism, Soc-realism, Brutalism, Architecture of forced standard etc., the main characteristic of all these astonishing edifices is they will always look not-just futuristic, but as though they were taken from the future and brought to us.
