EXIT festival (9-12 July)

Rajac Scythe Festival (17-19 Jul)
This event, which is guardian of Serbian tradition and customs, gathers skillful lawn-mower men, water carriers, trumpeters and curious visitors since 1965. More than ten thousand foreign and domestic tourists visit this festival, which consists of mowing competitions on Rajac mountain meadows, traditional cultural-artistic events, prelo (gathering of people from the village, where the women would weave and men would do their own handiwork) and an exhibition of agricultural machinery.
This unique event is more than just a simple mowing competition. You will be able to see folk pageants and authentic Serbian customs and lifestyle. Do not miss the opportunity to express your competitive spirit, learn something new about the lifestyle and work of people who live here and enjoy the smell of freshly-mowed meadows.
Drina Regatta (14-19 July)
Rafting Drina is always a good reason to visit this wild emerald river and freshen up the warm days of July. It is really difficult to describe the atmosphere at the summer water event using words only. However, if we had to define it in just three words, they would be adrenaline, nature and fun!
A variety of activities, fascinating natural beauty and unique experience of rafting are attracting tens of thousands of people to the oldest tourist – recreational event on the Drina River. In addition to great fun on the waves of this restless river, numerous concerts, competitions and preparation of traditional Serbian specialties are organized, as well as mini fair of souvenirs, honey and rakija…

European Film Festival – Palić 2015 – Palić (18-24 July)
You love watching a good movie, enjoy spending time near a lake and you like drinking quality wine? Then you should not miss the 22nd European Film Festival. Namely, the fairytale-like Palic Lake is hosting this prestigious European festival since 1992.
It was a long way from its insignificant beginnings with only several evening movie projections, to acquiring the membership in “The European Coordination of Film Festivals”, but nowadays this event is an important point on the map of European film festivals. Thanks to its quality program, humanitarian mission and 100% European content, Palić can boast with the festival that brings together a large number of people from Serbia and abroad.

Gitarijada (Guitar fest) 29 Jul -1 Avgust)
You can expect some crazy parties, great Rock’n’Roll and brilliant performers at the oldest festival of unestablished rock bands held this summer! However, these are not the only reasons to visit the festival, which will be held this summer in Zajecar for the 49th time.
The festival organizers are trying to complement the program each year with new and interesting content, in order to make each Gitarijada unique and unrepeatable. For that reason this July, you can expect new and unusual content, but with the same authentic and distinctive spirit of the most important festival of demo bands in the region. Because July in Serbia does not bring only the hot summer days but also great entertainment opportunities, it was extremely difficult for us to choose only five events. That is why we will provide some additional information. For all nature-lovers, rafting and extreme sports, besides Drina Regatta be sure to visit those on Tamis, Ibar, Velika Plana and Ovcar-Kablar gorge. On the other hand, if you enjoy carnival atmosphere, do not miss the International Vrnjci Carnival and if you want to learn something new in the field of art and culture you must visit these events “Mišićevi i čobanski dani” (Shepherd Days), “Ivanjdanska umetnička kolonija” (Midsummer day art colony), “Zlatne ruke Sokobanje“ (Golden Hands of Sokobanja”) etc.
