Photography exhibition “Psychodelict Stairway” was inspired by the work of the famous film director Alfred Hitchcock and particularly his film “Psycho”

Photography exhibition by Ljubomir Šimunić “Psychodelict Stairway” will be open in Gallery Artget in Belgrade till July 11th. The exhibition is dedicated to the famous film director Alfred Hitchcock, and it is inspired by his famous film “Psycho”.

50 Šimunić’s photos present stairs outside the realistic view, the same way everything was altered in Hitchock’s films as well.

Šimunić presents this motif in different varieties creating an entire world of staircases where implicitly the fearful presence of someone like Norman Bates, the leading schizophrenic character in Hitchock’s film “Psycho”, can be felt.

Ljubomir Šimunić is one of the most significant and most interesting film artists in the sphere of alternative and experimental film of the 70-ties of the 20th century in Yugoslavia, and later the photographer of extraordinary sensibility, whose work is less familiar to wider audience.

He belongs to the group of authors who explore, using different interests and approaches, the inextricably intertwined and wonderful relationship between film and photography. He’s the author of alternative films and a large number of photo series.
