The painting exhibition “Ostrvo senki” (English: Island of Shadows), opened till June 29th, will also present to public two animated films

The exhibition “Ostrvo senki” (Island of Shadows) by the authors Margareta Jelić and Aleksandar Đilas will be open for visitors in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina in Novi Sad till June 29th. This artistic project was created according to the model of horror films, and it presents the themes of this genre – fear and facing it.

The exhibition will present the installation of the same name, consisting of two animated works projected on two adjacent walls of the gallery, as well as the paintings – acrylic on canvas.

The exhibition is conceived as a multimedial event that is interactive with audience, thanks to the installation that draws the observer into the space. Marta, the animated heroine of the Belgrade artist Margareta Jelić, travels accompanied by a mystery woman to the island where they continue their trip guided by a boy and his dog.

Awful and mysterious events await them on this strange trip where they also encounter strange creatures. Paintings represent scenes from the animated film, i.e. the events that precede and those that follow the theme of the work.
