The traditional international festival of Organ Days – Dies organorum will take place in the nations’ capital, Belgrade, for the 12th time, presenting the prominent organists from England, Sweden, Slovakia, Croatia, Russia and the United States. All concerts start at 20.30, and the entrance is free.
The already traditional international festival of Organ Days – Dies organorum will take place in the nation’s capital, Belgrade, for the 12th time, presenting the prominent organists from England, Sweden, Slovakia, Croatia, Russia and the United States. Visitors of the festival will have opportunity to hear works of legendary authors such as J. S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, F. Liszt, K. Debussy, but also the works by contemporary composers performed by the most significant organists on the music scene today. The Festival will be held at The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Cathedral in Hadži Milentijeva Street 75, from 2nd to 12th of July.
The guest from England, William Whithead , will present himself at the grand opening of the Festival, performing the works of J. S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, K.Sen-Sans, and the works by modern English composers from the late 20th century.
Our guest from Austria, the prominent organist Zuzana Ferjenčíková, will perform the works of Franz Liszt and the local audience will have the unique opportunity to hear Modest Mussorgsky’s famous composition “Pictures at an Exhibition”.
Anders Johnsson from Sweden will present himself with the compositions of Debussy, Janáček, Boelmann, Liszt, Bach. Višeslav Jaklin, connoisseur of church music, is coming from Croatia and his repertoire includes compositions of Buxtehude, Franck, Schlick, Zipoli and Bach.
Aleksej Paršin, instrumentalist and professor of organ at the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, will perform works of Buxtehude, Bach, Frescobaldi, Klerambo, and Vivaldi.
This Festival has become one of the significant cultural manifestations in nation’s capital thanks to exceptional performances by prominent organists. Also the 12th Summer Organ School, an important educational program for all students of organ, will be organized during the Festival. Master classes and lectures will be held by all participants at this year’s Festival.
