Around 40 artists from Finland, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Serbia are taking part in this year’s October Salon.
Their works will present a fusion of different arts – sculptures, installations, films, paintings, photographs, stories, essays, interviews, comic books, documents, research projects, public discussions and art interventions, as well as an entire parliament.
This year’s location of the Salon is the ex building of the Institute of Geodesy in Karadjordjeva street, number 48. One of the most beautiful and yet one of the most neglected historic buildings in Belgrade was built in 1907, according to the plans of architects Andra Stevanović and Nikola Nestorović, in the spirit of eclecticism with elements of Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau.
