Ballet “North Fairy Tale”, directed by Staša Zurovac and made on the music of Edvard Grieg, which was composed to Henrik Ibzen’s play “Peer Gynt”, opens the new season in Madlenianum opera and theater on October 8th.
The Madlenianum opera scene will present a fairly tale interpretation of eternal love and self-knowledge, accompanied by love, suffering and awaiting of the beloved one. Ibsen’s drama and Grieg’s music follow Peer Gynt’s, the leading character’s path of growing up and self-discovery, through numerous unusual situations, landscapes, encounters with people, leading him to the moment of maturity.
The leading roles are played by ballet dancers Miloš Marjan as Peer Gynt, Bojana Žegarac as Solveig, Olga Olćan as Anitra, Sanja Ninkovic as Ingrid, Danica Arapović as Mother Ase.
Vocal soloists are Nenad Nenić, baritone, Tanja Obrenovic, mezzo-soprano and Jasmina Stojković, the soprano in the vocal role of Solveig.
The Madlenianum orkrestar, under the baton of maestro Stanko Jovanović is performing the outstanding Greig’s symphonic music, composed for Henrik Ibsen’s drama with the same name.
