Leskovac carnival

The 6th Leskovac carnival will take place on the streets of Leskovac from 3rd to 7th of July with rich program of carnival parades, costumes, music and over 150,000 visitors. Thanks to variety of dance troupes from Serbia and abroad, Leskovac carnival has become one of the biggest carnivals in the country, and the significant destination on the map of European carnival cities.

Traditionaly numerous visitors will have the opportunity to participate and see numerous manifestationa such as costume ball, festival of street entertainers, kids carnival, carnival of “senior citizens”, carnival of pets… The central event on the main street in Leskovac is the central parade of the dance troupes. The Carnival is traditionaly opened by carnival of majorettes from Leskovac.

This is the unique combination of traditional and modern carnivals. Unique by its diverse and numerous manifestations, the town of Leskovac has officially become a International Carnival city, admitted by The Association of European Carnival cities. The Carnival is organized by the Tourist organization of Leskovac. This city was the only city in the country that had a carnival between the two World Wars, thus the long carnival tradition.
