The American lineup, Kultur Shock, is performing on August 29th in the Belgrade club “Lađa”. This band is unique because it puts together punk, metal, latino, hip-hop, samba and jazz and all that spiced up with music characteristic for the Balkans.
The band Kultur Shock which was formed in Seattle is headed by Djino Jedjević. Besides him the tradition of the Balkans is carried by another Bosnian as well as a Bulgarian guitarist. The rest of the band members are Americans.
Former front man of the Sarajevo Band Djino banana, Srdjan Jedjević went from being a pop musician to becoming a punker and founded Kultur Shock in Seattle in the mid 90’s.
The band had many shows throughout America and Europe. They shared the stage with the Gogol Bordello, Iggy Pop, The Wailers, Joan Baez, Sky Cries Mary and many others.
With a few lineup changes they published the following studio albums “FUCC The INS” (2001), “Kultura-Diktatura”(2004), “We Came To Take Your Jobs Away” (2006), “Integration” (2009) and “Ministry of Kultur” (2011).
The multicultural and creative width gives Shock unrepeatable sound and explosive insanity which should definitely be heard.
