The traditional manifestation of children’s creativity, “Joy of Europe”, is being held in Belgrade from 1st to 5 th October, for the 43rd time. This year’s theme of the event is in the verses by Duško Radović: “Let the streams flow into the rivers wide, allow the tributaries to develop left and right”.
During the five days of the largest and the oldest children’s event in the country, kids from all over Europe will have a chance to meet, hang out and presents themselves through various forms of artistic expression.
The program involves art schools, cultural centers, clubs, associations and groups. Almost all European countries have had their young ones participating in the event. During the festival, they are staying with the families of the kids of the same age from Belgrade schools.
On the first day of the festival, the program starts at 11:30h with the projections of animated movies for kids in the Children’s Cultural Center of Belgrade (DKCB), followed by the exhibition of children’s art works. In the afternoon, the Carnival parade will go from the Republic Square to the Kalemegdan fortress. The festival officially opens in the Kalemegdan park.
On the second day of the event, four concerts will be held in the great hall of the DKCB.
The third festival day begins with the “Captain John Peoplefoks” play for kids at 11h, followed by the children’s party at 18h. The penultimate day of the festival is of the entertaining and recreational type, and it starts at 10h at Ada Ciganlija.
“Joy of Europe” finishes at October the 5th, with a big concert in the Sava Center, starting at 20 h.
