Exhibition: “The Danube fishermen”

The exhibition “The Danube fishermen” will be open from the 4th February to 15th March in the Historical Museum of Serbia. Through more than 200 items the exhibition will present the development of fisheries in Belgrade but also in the wider Danube area.

The author of the exhibition, Dr. Dušica Bojic will be guided a interested visitors through exhibition every Wednesday from 3 pm.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the development of fisheries in Belgrade but also in the wider Danube area through more than 200 items, which include archival materials, art works, photos and fisherman’s equipment used over the centuries from the Neolithic period to the present day.

The exhibition “Danube fishermen” consists of two parts. The first part describes the everyday life of fishermen on the Danube through the various equipment used by fishermen, while the second part is devoted to family Bogdanovic, their life on Dorćol (the old Belgrade quarter), status in society and fostering the fishing as a family tradition.
