Balkanima 2012

The 9th Balkanima, European Festival of Animated Film, is being organized from October 2nd till October 6th in the Student’s City Cultural Center in Belgrade, and this year’s guest country is the Czech Republic.

This year’s Festival will gather prominent authors of animated films, students of animation and their professors from Serbia and numerous European countries.

Audience will have the opportunity to see some of the best European animated films, and the festival includes 4 main competition programs and 4 programs of student films, as well as 2 panoramas of European film.

In honor of the guest country, 2 programs of films by Czech authors will be presented, and the main festival exhibition is dedicated to the works of the Czech author Jiri Trnka.

The side program includes films by the Norwegian animator of puppet films Ivo Caprino, and visitors will have the opportunity to see the multimedia installation “I the artist” by Marija Ilić.
