Openned to films for all over the globe, this year’s FEST will once again be the meeting ground of a number of carefully selected films, eminent authors and positive energy. So, prepare your hands for a lot of applauding as there are 110 premiere screenings in the following 10 days of this indispensable film festival!

Numerous famous actors, directors, artists and all those who enjoy good cinematography will be welcomed in the great hall of the Sava Centar. The reason being the International Film Festival (FEST) which grew to become one of the main event of Belgrade’s cultural life. Victoria Abril, a distinguished Spanish actress, will have the pleasure of opening the FEST.

Apart from one of Almodóvar’s favourite muses, the guest list for this year’s FEST includes a long list of honourable names from both the Serbian and the international movie scene. Still, the films played at the Sava centar, Dom omladine, Dvorana kulturnog centra, Fontana, Jugoslovenska kinoteka, Muzej jugoslovenske kinoteke, and this year even at the Ušće Cineplexx, will surely draw more film fans.

The first FEST, under the slogan “A Brave New World” was opened on the 9th of January 1971. It was envisioned as an annual review of the best films of the season, but, in time, became one of the most important film festivals.

The 44th FEST will be opened with Humidity, the first feature film of Nikola Ljuca, and the films Hail, Caesar by the Coen Brothers, Youth by Paolo Sorentino, Carol by Tod Haynes, 99 Homes by Ramin Bahrami, Des Nouvelles de La Planete Mars by Dominik Moll, Dheepan by Jacques Audiard, El Clan by Pablo Trapero, Irrational Man by Woody Allen, Kollektivet by Thomas Vinterberg, The Lobster by Yorgos Lanthimos and many others have generated huge interest.

From the 26th of February to the 3rd of March, you have been granted the opportunity to enjoy the best films of the season and the company of their esteemed authors, as well as to experience other surprises FEST has in store for you. Seize it!
