The head of the government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric met with Austrian Ambassador to Belgrade Johannes Eigner Monday to discuss the course of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Serbia’s EU integration process and the current political and security situation in Kosovo-Metohija.

Austria is a key partner for the Serbian government as regards Serbia’s European prospects and creating lasting stability in the region, Djuric said.

We are particularly proud of the large Serb community in Austria, a major bridge between the two countries, Djuric said.

Djuric briefed Eigner on the position of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs, noting that frequent attacks against them and their property – and, more recently, the Belgrade-Pristina trade ties – are a cause for concern.

Pristina should unblock the process of forming the Community of Serb Municipalities, he said.
