Djordjevic and Scott stressed the importance of a recently held high-level bilateral defense consultation between the U.S. and Serbia.
The minister and the ambassador agreed that in addition to the partnership Serbia and the Ohio National Guard through State Partnership Program projects such as equipping the training center for multinational operations units at Jug (South) military base and improving the engineering section of the Serbian Armed Forces in preparations for peacekeeping operations, the two countries had a common interest in working on new areas of cooperation.
The meeting also touched on cooperation in improving the modalities of public procurement for the defense system.
Minister Djordjevic said that “although the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces have a very responsible approach to the implementation of this process, we wish to be constantly improving our capacities in this field.”
