The development of automobile industry is significant for economic growth, Serbia’s Transport Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said on Monday, voicing expectation that the industry would post even better results.
“We are aware that the auto industry is very important as it facilitates the expansion of all other industries, which make various car parts,“ the minister said in her address to a conference titled “Autoforum 2016”.
It is also important to the state that these cars are safe, environmentally friendly and fuel effective, she said.
German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann described the automobile industry as a key sector in Germany, which accounts for 11 percent of GDP.
The car industry is also an important element of the German economic cooperation with Serbia, as German auto companies invested over EUR 100 million in Serbia and created 11,000 jobs.
