Dejan Dimitrijevic emerged victorious in Tuesday’s Epiphany cross dive in Belgrade’s neighborhood of Zemun.
This is the fourth time Dimitrijevic retrieved the cross, and as the winner, he was presented with the Epipany cross and cloak and the SVEBOR medal by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, who previously conducted a liturgy at the Church of St. Nicholas and led the Epiphany procession.
The Patriarch consecrated the Danube and gave his blessing to the 280 men who swam for the cross this year.
The Epiphany celebration was attended by a large number of people, representatives of the Zemun municipality and Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic.
The Epiphany cross dive was held in Zemun for the 19th time.
