Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Thursday that he understands Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic’s considerations on holding elections, but that he cannot understand opposition party leaders who are pretending to be advocating elections while knowing that they will have no success in them.
Creating such an unstable political atmosphere is not good for Serbia, Dacic said at a New Year reception for heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations and directors and editors-in-chief of media organisations.
Being a predictable country in terms of national affairs is significant for Serbia in the same way as it has strengthened its international position, Dacic said.
“With or without elections, our policy will continue to be oriented towards the European path, strengthening bilateral relations with traditionally friendly countries, creating and resetting relations with some major powers, and towards regional peace and stability,” Dacic said.
