The construction of a high-speed rail line between Serbia and Hungary will begin this year, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said at Tuesday’s summit in China.

Speaking at the opening of the fifth summit between China and Central and Eastern European states, Li said that the rail line is a link that will at least halve the travel time between Belgrade and Budapest, Blic reported.

The rail line should be completed in two years.

The summit, held in the Chinese city of Suzhou, is also attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
