The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Wednesday presented the results of the fifth annual survey of 1,000 businesses, showing areas where progress has been made and where there are still obstacles to improving competitiveness and economic growth in Serbia.

This year, significant improvements were observed in obtaining building permits and operating licenses, and executive procedure.

The respondents believe para-fiscal charges and fees have the most negative impact on doing business, adding taxes and contributions on salaries, value added tax, tax administration, the grey economy and administrative procedures.

The presentation of the poll, carried out by USAID in cooperation with IPSOS Strategic Marketing and with the support of the PKS, was attended by Serbia’s Deputy PM Zorana Mihajlovic, PKS President Marko Cadez and U.S. Ambassador Michael Kirby.
