Norwegian Foreign Minister Berge Brende commended on Thursday the leadership of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and the country’s reform agenda, adding that Serbia could count on Norway’s support and investment.

This is my third visit to Serbia which also illustrates the importance of Serbia in Norway’s foreign policy, Brende told a news conference after a bilateral meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. He said he was glad to see Norwegian companies showing interest in Serbia.

This is the best compliment as they decide on investment on their own, Brende said.

The Norwegian foreign minister praised Vucic for visiting Srebrenica in July.

Everyone in Europe took note of your personal courage. Thank you for showing leadership, Brende said.

Vucic: We will return favor to supportive Norway

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that Norway was Serbia’s sincere friend, providing us much needed assistance and support on the European path and in times of need, and Serbia would like to return the favor by doing everything to attract as many Norwegian investors as possible.

After meeting with Norway’s Foreign Minister Berge Brende, Vucic said that Norway had always been among the biggest donors when Serbia faced huge problems, such as flooding or now, the migrant crisis.
We are grateful to our Norwegian friends for being able to understand our situation and working together with us to solve problems facing us, said Vucic.

Vucic said Norway had always been in favor of a peaceful resolution of all disputes in the region.
