At least 350,000 Serbian citizens are residing in EU member-states, according to an answer by the European Commission (EC), based on available Eurostat data, to a question asked by European Parliament’s rapporteur on Serbia David McAllister.

McAllister asked the EC if it had accurate data on the number of Serbian citizens living in the EU in general and in each of the member-states individually.

European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen supplied McAllister with the Eurostat data for December 31, 2014, according to which a total of 352,680 Serbian citizens had a residence permit issued by an EU member-state.

The data, which McAllister shared with Tanjug, do not include all member states, as Greece, the Netherlands and Austria have failed to deliver their data to Eurostat.
