The pieces of Serbian, but also Croatian most famous modernists like Sava Šumanović, Nadežda Petrović, Ivan Tabaković, Ignjat Job and Marina Tartalja, have crossed the Serbian border and the border of Novi Sad for the first time since the Memorial Collection has been established more than 50 years ago.
For the first time, citizens of Zagreb had the opportunity to enjoy the great pieces– paintings and sculptures that represent the best of what Pavle Beljanski, a great diplomat and collector, have collected during his life.
The elite of the Zagreb culture had gathered in the Art Pavillon, and the space was filled with more than 400 visitors of this event.
The major attraction was the piece of Vlah Bukovac- “Velika Iza”, which had got completely new dimension with the walls painted in red, so Iza, as the visitors said, looked like as she was in bordello for real.
The portrait of Pavle Beljanski, “A Young Diplomat” is exhibited in the center of the gallery.
