Bacon Festival in Kačarevo

This year’s 26th “Bacon Festival” will be held from February 28th till March 3th at Kačarevo village in the Banat, near Pančevo.
Like every year, hundreds of tons of bacon awaits those who love it, at the largest fair of bacon in the world (situated in over 3000 m / 2 closed and open space).
Before the opening ceremony (February 28th at noon) the “Golden Pot” and “Golden greaves” competitions will be held, followed by a tasting of old forgotten dishes, meat and meat products, and an exhibition of cartoons called “Bacon have a soul, also”.
Event includes the butchers skills presentation, as well as a Festival of creativity of ethnic minorities in Vojvodina, and choice of most powerful visitor. The Miss of “Becon Festival” will be chosen on Saturday, March 2nd.
The event is unique in its content, has been held since 1988. year and it is based on respect, nurturing and preserving tradition.
