Sremski Karlovci Grape Harvest, Groždjebal 2012

This year’s Grožđebal (GrapeBall) in Sremski Karlovci is being held from 28th till 30th of September. Visitors will have the opportunity to buy all sorts of grapes, wines and authentic souvenirs, as well as enjoy the rich cultural and entertaining program.
After the parade and concert of pipers from Sebia, Bulgaria and Macedonia, performing on Friday at 7PM, an artistic ensemble “Stanislav Binički” opens the “Karlovac vintage 2012” at 8PM. On the same evening, we’ll see the performances of the „Tamburitza players of Vojvodina“ (a string orchestra) and the „Niagara“ band.
Saturday brings joy to the youngest because the children’s plays “Brave tiger”, and “Doctor Enciclopedius” as wll as magicians and clowns performing “A thousand wonders” will be on dispay on the city square.
At 4PM the “Brankovo kolo” club performs, and in the evening Ksenija Mijatovic and the stars of the “First Voice of Serbia” shall step on the stage, and the concert of the „Love Hunters“ band begins fifteen minutes after the midnight.
The final day of the event also begins with theater performances for children, and the kids’ music festival “Licidersko srce” (Licider heart) is being held at 4PM.
The concerts start at 8:30PM. “Plavi ptičić” (The Blue Bird) and Gabor Lengyel Retro Party Band will perform followed by the famous ex-YU rock star Dado Topić.
“Karlovac vintage” is an event that followed the tradition of a folk ceremony that celebrated the beginning of the grape harvest. This event was restored in 1992 after a 20-year break, and is being held on the last weekend of September or the first weekend of Оctober ever since.
