All member states strongly support the bloc’s policy of enlargement, to Serbia as well, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said on Thursday.
At a business lunch organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Serbia, he said the EU had been preparing long-term plans for enlargement in many fields.
That is why it is important for governments to ensure this policy enjoys support among citizens, he added.
European integration is important for improving the business climate in Serbia, it was said in the business lunch.
Davenport and Serbia’s Chief Negotiator Tanja Miscevic also underlined the need for further steps forward concerning the economic reform agenda.
Miscevic praised AmCham’s efforts to improve and establish more effective legal frameworks and institutional mechanisms, whose results are evident in the fight against the grey economy.
