In the city of windy weather and skyscrapers half a world away, a neighborhood smells of Serbian sarma.
In a restaurant named after the Serbian capital, proper Serbian dishes are made, and in the store next to it Serbian products are sold. You can even find Serbian newspapers which take a couple of days to reach Chicago.

“We try to bring our people the things they miss from home, and also to show the American people as best we can the authentic Serbian and Balkan cuisine and service”, says Nebojša Pavlović, owner of the “Beograd” restaurant.
There’s usually Serbian music playing. Nebojša and his family are making a real effort to make a proper Serbian atmosphere.
“I think it’s very important for people never to forget who they are and where they come from. This is very important to me and I am very proud of the place I come from.“
The restaurant was opened in 2006 by Duško Pavlović who came from Serbia to the USA in 1992. This family owned restaurant and café has been portraying Serbian food at its best for 10 years now. Here, you can enjoy Serbian specialties such as burek, sarma, ćevapi and pljeskavica, mešano meso, šopska salata and delicious desserts like krempita, tulumba, etc. and all in a very comfortable sort of old world atmosphere.
