The head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Michael Davenport, on Wednesday toured the construction site of a 32-flat building in Obrenovac, funded by the EU with EUR 780,000 as part of a social housing project.

This is another part of our fruitful cooperation with the Obrenovac municipality, and these concrete results would not have been achieved without full support from the municipality and our partners at UNOPS, said Davenport, adding that the EU had set aside almost EUR 10 million for post-flood recovery in Obrenovac – for schools, businesses and renovation of privately-owned houses.

The EU has set aside EUR 780,000 for construction of this building – the works are progressing very well despite the weather conditions and will be completed timely, in late May or early June, Davenport said.
