German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann said late on Friday that Germany appreciated Serbia’s cooperation in tackling the migrant crisis as it was a challenge requiring a joint approach.
Asked to comment on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stating in Davos that he would defend the approach of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in resolving the migrant crisis, Dittmann said it was a very positive statement.
We appreciate the spirit of cooperation and the approach to the joint challenge. It is a very positive statement and a reminder that the EU countries should work together and that Serbia wants to be part of a joint European answer to the crisis, Dittmann said in a panel held to mark the 53rd anniversary of the Elysee Treaty at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade late on Friday.
