Russia’s airborne troops will conduct joint exercises with Egypt, Serbia and India in 2016, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Troops Vladimir Shamanov said on Thursday.

“In accordance with the plan for international activities our units will participate in a tactical exercise in Serbia, in an exercise of the Egyptian armed forces and in a joint peace-keeping and humanitarian mine-clearing exercise in India, as well as in three exercises by special operations units in Belarus,” the TASS news agency cited Shamanov as saying.

Shamanov added that special operations units of the Belarussian armed forces would be invited to take part in joint exercises with paratroopers in Russia.
