The opposition is no closer to a deal to join forces for snap parliamentary elections, leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDS), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV), National Movement of Serbia (NPS) and Together for Serbia (ZS) said on Tuesday evening.
A few hours earlier, after the late-afternoon meeting, leader of the Democratic Party (DS) Bojan Pajtic told reporters that the opposition was close to the decision to unite for the early parliamentary elections.
The leaders of the five parties voiced regret in a joint release because representatives of the opposition stayed on the initial positions, and invited the DS to a meeting on January 22 so as to agree on the model in which they would stand for election.
They also criticized the DS for not responding to a call for a similar meeting before.
