Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Policy Aleksandar Vulin said Monday that Serbia would behave the same way as other countries on the migrant routes when it came to migrants and the migrant situation.

When Slovenia and Croatia made the decision not to admit economic migrants, Serbia immediately informed Macedonia about it and stopped accepting economic migrants, Vulin said.

“We will behave the same way as other countries along the route. That is, whatever they may decide, we will behave accordingly,” Vulin said in Belgrade.

Serbia will respect the human rights of migrants and ensure the highest possible standards in this area are being met, just as before, he said.

Vulin added, however, that if there be restriction on migrant movements outside Serbian borders, Serbia also might not be able to allow them movement through our country.
