New Yorker who has recently visited Belgrade, was delighted by its charm and unusual juncture of urbanness and glamour. He left the capital city full of impressions, calling it one of the unavoidable European destinations.

Article about Belgrade, recently written by a New Yorker, definitely didn’t go unnoticed. Namely, Jason Silverstein who had the opportunity to spend a few days in our capital city last summer, wrote more than just interesting article about his experiences and places he had a chance to see during his stay.

According to him, the thing that makes Belgrade a unique place is that it isn’t a city which is trying to impress tourists by its look. Authentic ruins in the city center, had left a big impression on him.

„Buildings bombed out by NATO in 1999 in the center of downtown remain as an unnerving civil monument and give Belgrade a grit behind the glamour that any New Yorker would recognize“

He had only nice words for the city and people in it, and some parts like The Gardoš Tower and Kalemegdan had amazed him for real, but he also appointed to some of the cafes, restaurants, stores and general places to go to.

He recommended Belgrade to everyone who wants to be in a kind of an urban place and those who don’t crave for the glamour, but also said that Belgrade doesn’t lack in that either.
