Forty-eight percent of Serbian citizens would vote for Serbia’s EU accession if a referendum on this was to be held tomorrow, while 28 percent would vote against, show the results a survey titled “European orientation of the Serbian citizens”, conducted by the Office for European Integration in December.

The survey results also showed that 15 percent of citizens would not vote at all, while 9 percent did not know how to respond to the question “Do you support Serbia’s EU accession?”

The survey of 1,027 participants aged over 18 was conducted according to Eurobarometer standards, the Office said in a statement.

The results also show that, like in the past years, citizens are overwhelmingly supportive of reforms.

Seventy-three percent of the survey participants said that the reforms required for Serbia’s EU accession should also be pursued outside that objective for the benefit of the citizens and in order to create a more orderly Serbia.
