Serbian Film Festival in the USA has been officially opened on Friday, the 4th of December at the prestigious Rosemont Theatre in Chicago. Our famous actor Radoš Bajić attended the projection of the movie “For king and homeland” along with his wife, and the audience rewarded him with the applause and ovations after the movie had ended.

The winner of the Venice Film Festival in 2014 “No one’s child” was shown the same night, and its author Vuk Ršmović opened this year’s ceremony by cutting the ribbon, accompanied by Mrs. Drina Rajić, the adviser in the Office of Republika Srpska and Slavica Petrović who is also the founder of the festival.

This important and significant manifestation in the USA, dedicated to the contemporary Serbian film has been continued day later with the projection of the movie „Enklava“ which is also our representative for the most important award in the movie industry – „Oscars“.

Festival is moving to Washington where it will continue under the sponsorship of the Office of Republika Srpska in the USA on the 8th and 9th of December.

“This year’s Serbian Film Festival” will be held in Washington for the first time because Government of the Republic of Serbia decided to support due to the significant movie accomplishments in which center are cultural and national distinctiveness of Serbian people”, said Obrad Kesić, the Chief of the Office of Republika Srpska in Washington.
