Besides numerous natural resources that adorn it, Bor has a lot to offer to tourists who decide to spend their time walking down its streets during winter period. In 24 hours, we have seen a lot of interesting things in Bor and we’ve decided to share them with you. Enjoy!

Start your morning with memorable history lessons

Museum of Mining and Metallurgy is one of the most favorite attractions of Bor, and with a good reason. Namely, this institution represents the unique juncture of modern technology and history and, at the same time, it is a real treat for the lovers of art and archaeology.

Muzej Bor

Among 20.000 showpieces which have been adorning this museum for 40 years, there are collections and funds covering the period from 4500 years B.C. until the end of 20th century chronologically. Here you will have the opportunity to meet with bone and ancient tools, amphoras, medieval jewelry, but also with ceramics and money from Brestovac and Lazar’s Canyon.

An afternoon enjoyment in the favorite winter sport

Ski resort Crni Vrh maybe doesn’t fall under the most popular ones in Serbia, but it is for sure a „holiday for a pocket“ for all of those who want to enjoy the charms of skiing during winter season, and don’t want to spend a small fortune on it. This ski resort, only 30 km away from Bor, will give you the best afternoon recreation and a rest for all your senses.

Crni Vrh has two well furnished ski trails, as well as the settled road that enables easy and safe transport to the resort. If you’re not a fan of skiing but you love being around skiers, you can take your place in one of cafes and enjoy the view of the ski trail with a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea. We recommend visiting Lazar’s Canyon which is not available during winter due to poor weather conditions.

Paying a visit to one of the most beautiful Zoos in Serbia

We are positive that there is no person who could resist the visit to the most favorite „garden“ in the world. For the lovers of animals, Bor has opened the door to its Zoo 10 years ago and it has instantly won the hearts of the visitors and placed itself among the most beautiful in Serbia.

There is no better way for an afternoon relaxation, right?

Night walks by the Lake of Bor

This unusual nature’s jewel lays in the foothill of Crni Vrh at above the sea level of 438 m. The artificial Bor Lake has been the attraction of Eastern Serbia since 1959, and it becomes even more popular with the development of this area. Natural beauties that surround it, but the lake itself, represent an ideal combination for the evening enjoyment and long walks by the water.

During winter days, the lake is completely frozen so don’t hesitate over taking magnificent photos around it.
