The time for gathering the impressions from a year which slowly stays behind us has come, so let’s remember all the successes we’ve managed to accomplish. Sport successes have always had a power to unite the people even in the most difficult situations, and that being said, this year, we’ve been united more than ever.

This 2015 was historical for Serbia according to the number of achieved acknowledgments, because our sportsmen managed to bring home 734 medals from various competitions, and even 30 in Olympic disciplines which is twice as much compared to the last Pre-Olympic year. All the expectations were exceeded, and we have never been prouder on the country of origin.

Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić made sure that these successes were celebrated, so he prepared the New Year’s reception where he gathered the great sport names and took the opportunity to wish them all even more successful Olympic, 2016.

Laughter and funny stories from sport competitions were echoing around the chamber full of the most successful ones in sports, and none of them hid the excitement about the fact that they will all defend the colors of Serbian flag together at the Olympic Games next year.

Udovičić addressed the audience with words that he was proud to be the Minister of sports and that he was happy because it is being invested in sport even during the difficult times.

“The Olympic year is ahead of us, I believe in all of you and I know that we will celebrate those medals together” – he concluded.
