The 12th anniversary of the March Pogrom against Kosovo-Metohija Serbs was commemorated at the National Theatre in Belgrade and the Gracanica cultural centre Thursday.

Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin gave a speech at the theatre after the screening of a film documenting the events of March 17, 2004.

Nothing – or very little – has been done in Kosovo-Metohija without orders, and neither has the March Pogrom, Vulin noted.

“The evil had been preparing, and it showed its face 12 years ago in Europe’s last major ethnic cleansing – may it be the last,” Vulin said.

He urged UNESCO officials to visit the Serbian holy sites razed in the pogrom before thinking once again about admitting Kosovo-Metohija to the organisation “as some kind of state”.
