The month of March has prepared a wide selection of events and attractions for all those living in or visiting Serbia this month. So, let us see.. Tennis? Check! Wine tasting? Check! An inspiring photography exibition? Check! Listening to fine-tuned guitars? Check! Horseback riding? Or maybe a chariot ride in a rather unique countryside? Double-check! Serbia has it all. Just take a look at these special opportunities and take your pick!

1. Davis cup (March 4-6)

There’s a real treat in store for all those tennis junkies who happen to find themselves in Serbia this March. We’re talking of course about the first-round tie of the 2016 Davis Cup World Group. Serbia will face Kazakhstan in at the Pionir sports hall in Belgrade from March 4-6. All those who secure themselves a seat for this “tennis festival” will have the opportunity to watch Serbian tennis players Novak Đoković, Viktor Troicki, Filip Krajinović and Nenad Zimonjić “fight” their opponents.

On Friday two singles will be played at 2 pm, and a doubles match will be following it the next day at 3 pm. On the final day of this sports manifestation you can look forward to two separate matches starting at 1 pm. An interesting fact is that the last time a Davis Cup match was played at this very same hall was from 5-7 February 1989 when Serbia beat Denmark 4-1.

2. Guitar Art Festival (March 8-13)

If you love good music, and guitar music in particular, on no account miss the Guitar Art Festival, one of the five largest and most prominent international festivals of classical guitar in the world. Make sure you attend the Seventeenth International Guitar Festival, held from 8-13 March 2016 in Belgrade, where you’ll be the recipient of fine tunes from some of the most distinguished names from the world of classical guitar.

The Guitar Art Festival has not only become a leading center for concerts and premiers but for an exchange of experiences and knowledge among guitarists from around the world. With a concept and content which incorporate traditional values and modern tendencies, GAF had managed to establish Belgrade as a international center of guitar music in March of every year.

3. Zobnatica (March 8)

If you happen to be in Serbia, you can surprise your favourite lady with something completely different for Women’s Day! The Zobnatica tourist complex has prepared a special promotion for all those whose darling loves nature, quality food and accommodation, and, of course, one of the most beautiful and most elegant creatures – horses.

Zobnatica, an equestrian center 5 km north of Bačka Topola, is renowned for breeding purebreds for more than 200 years. Apart from a wonderful scenery and top-notch accommodation, this unique tourist complex can offer a number of fun activities such as horseback riding and fiacre rides, visits to the horse farm, an art gallery, a unique equestrian museum shaped like a horse-shoe and to the former Terlei Château (now a hotel). You can even fish or take a dip in the Zobnatičko lake.

4. Photography exhibition ‘‘Moj Beograd dušu ima’’ (March 7-17)

On Monday, March 7, at 7 pm, the Vračar Gallery opens its doors to grant you a photography exhibition entitled ‘‘My Belgrade has soul’’ (,,Moj Beograd ima dušu’’). So true, right? If you’re in love with our capital, you know where you have to be on the 7th of March.

All 87 photographs are printed on canvas and are a true inspiration. If you’re not from Belgrade, we highly suggest you come here for yourselves and see all the sights you simply have to visit. The end date is the 17th of March.

5. VINOFEST (March 18 and 19)

And of course, a monthly review of manifestations and events wouldn’t be complete without a little something for hedonists. Then again what we’re about to invite you to couldn’t exactly be described as little. The manifestation in question is the 11th VINOFEST – an international festival of wine, winemaking and viticulture. The festival is held in Vršac, in the grand hall of hotel “Srbija”, on the 18th and 19th of March. Certainly an occasion no wine lover should miss.

VINOFEST is a fair which brings all winemakers and vintners from the region as well as from abroad to one place. Apart from tasting high-quality wine, you can also learn about all sorts of equipment for the production of wine.
