The Slav Union, a Vienna-based diaspora organization, has started projects to help development in rural areas of eastern Serbia by establishing an agricultural cooperative in Kladovo.

President of the Slav Union Stevan Raducic is currently in Kladovo to oversee the implementation of the initiative, which aims to breathe new life in agriculture development in eastern Serbia.

The Slav Union will invest in the production of organic food, stating as reasons the intention to make healthy, domestic products that are not genetically modified available to people.

Farmers will have at their disposal machines and other resources that they will be able to use in production, and a part of that has been provided by Belarus.

The Slav Union is one of the few Serbian diaspora organizations offering concrete projects and immediate assitance to help revive the “passive”, often forgotten parts of Serbia.
