Paintings of world renowned painters of naive art from the village of Kovačica will be exhibited in the National Museum in Kragujevac

The exhibition “The naive art of Kovačica“, presenting the works of painters of naive art from this Vojvodinian village, will be open for visitors in the Gallery of the National Museum in Kragujevac till July 8th.

Life and everyday activities are painted in powerful and joyful colors in a different and interesting way.

Numerous recognitions and exhibitions around the world as well as over six decades of this unique art school testify of the importance and long tradition of naive painting in Kovačica.

Painters from Kovačica bring authentic artistic expression in their works, various in motifs and expression, and every painter has unique style.

The exhibition is opened in memory of the rebellion of Slovak soldiers in 1918 in the town of Kragujevac.

Today paintings of artists from Kovačica can be seen in residencies of presidents, kings, as well as in numerous institutions and in private collections around the world. Many famous people, including the ex President of France François Mitterand, the band Rolling Stones, the actress Ursula Anders, the football player Pele, visited the Gallery in Kovačica.
