This is the place where the First Serbian Uprising against the century of Turkish reign had started, and it represents one of the most important dates for Serbian people, history and the state of the 19th century. Today, a monument,a park, a school, a museum and a church stand at the place of the assembly and Marićevića jaruga, a place where monument fountain is settled, is in the immediate vicinity. The three marble panels with the engraved text related to marking the 150 years of the First Serbian Uprising, represent the central part of this fountain.
