SUMMARY:Memory Update - Ornaments of Serbian Medieval Frescoes
DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Applied Art stages the exhibition “Memory Update – Ornaments of Serbian Medieval Frescoes” on the 6th of November 2013 to mark this year’s anniversary of its founding. The exhibition will be open until 31st January 2014.\nAn interest in ornament as particular visual and semantic\, as well as a linguistic phenomenon becomes more and more increasing in the visualization world of all segments of modern communication. An ornament is often used as a decoration\, a pattern\, a decorative detail in applied art and architecture but it also bears a broadest span of symbolical\, culturological and religious meanings that are susceptible to various analyses and even mathematical reading and interpretation. \nAlmost 500 tables with copies of ornaments from Serbian medieval frescoes will be displayed. Last time they were exhibited in 1961 in honour of the Congress of Byzantine Studies that took place the same year in Belgrade. The body of five hundred seventy two ornaments was left to the Museum as exquisite ornamental treasure. \nAuthor of the exhibition is Dušan Milovanović\, a museum advisor at the Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade\, and the author of the exhibition design is Ivan Mangov\, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Art and Design\, Megatrend University. \nFpr more information visit: www.mpu.rs/english/index.html \n

DESCRIPTION:Auteur Film Festival will be held from 28th November to 3rd December in Belgrade at several locations: Youth Center of Belgrade\, Belgrade Cultural Center\, the Museum of Yugoslav Film Archive\, the Cultural Center “Studentski grad” as well as in “Fontana” cinema.\nThe program of the festival\, which traditionally displays artistic works best films from all around the world and favorites of prestigious international film festivals\, this year has 16 film achievements. SUMMARY:Square With An Open Heart in Belgrade
DESCRIPTION:The third consecutive year\, Belgrade will be joining the European capitals\, whose festive New Year’s atmosphere will followed by the traditional Christmas festival. Colourful and cheerful holiday decorations and wooden houses from which lure smells of cakes\, mulled wine\, tea and other hot drinks and snacks will bring to life a special holiday place on the Republic Square – “Square with an open heart.” The event will be open from December 14th till January 12nd\, every day\, from 10 am to 11 pm.\nThe “Square with an open heart” is entirely dedicated to children. Every week the kids will enjoy the children’s shows\, musicals\, ballet\, performances of magicians\, jugglers and entertainers. For December the 31st the “Bosko Buha” theater preparing a special surprise for the children: the official welcome Santa Claus to the “Square with an open heart.” The admission to the all programs is free and will take place on Friday from 5.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 pm. \n[doptg id=”21″] \nIn keeping with the spirit of the holidays\, Square With An Open Heart traditionally has a humanitarian character. SUMMARY:7th Rakija Fest
DESCRIPTION:The Rakija Fest\, an International Fair of rakija and the strongest flavors of Serbia will be held on 14th and 15th December at the Mikser House in Belgrade (Karadjordjeva 40).\nThe Rakija Fest is not only the most visited but also most professional of its kind that is dedicated to rakija from the region. It presents the most important producers of rakija from Serbia and abroad\, as well as displaying selected producers of delicacies. \nThe committee of the Rakija Fest will include in the accompanying program an expert evaluation of the samples. SUMMARY:“Neverne Bebe” at Kombank Arena
DESCRIPTION:The long awaited Belgrade concert of the group “Neverne Bebe” as well as the culmination of the celebrating two decades of the band’s presence shall take place on December 28th in Kombank Arena within “PRAŠTAM – 20 YEARS WITH YOU” concert.\nIts significance lies within top-notch quality of the musicians creating the band as well as within their utterly special artistic sensibility\, hand to hand with the fact it has had the reputation of the one of the best live bands in the whole region. \n“Neverne Bebe” have obtained a cult status when it comes to home rock scene.
