DESCRIPTION:Belgrade Foam Fest\, one of the most spectacular music and scene events in Serbia\, will be held on September 1st in the Arena Belgrade. Alex Gaudino and Kurd Maverick will be performing on the Main Stage. The largest Foam Festival in Europe will be announced by dozens of promotional parties around the country and the region. \nThis year Guarana Foam Fest will have over a hundred of VIP promoters\, including singers\, actors\, sportsmen and women and others. \nThis is the fourth Foam Fest held in Serbia and it was visited by more than 60\,000 people. SUMMARY:Belgrade latino marathon
DESCRIPTION:On September 1st with the beginning at 19.00 the 3rd Belgrade latino marathon under the slogan “Let’s dance to the rhythm of the Belgrade rivers” is being organized at the plateau of the Sava port with the performances of renowned dance schools and the biggest Latino party out in the open. \nBelgrade can boast with a Latin dances scene worthy of the top international champions\, thus it’s no wonder this manifestation dedicated to Latin dances gathers great audience and passionate admirers of Latin dances and rhythms. \nAt this year’s Belgrade latino marathon we’re expecting to see around 150 dance couples from the country and abroad\, among which are top dance couples\, international and European champions. \nAlso all visitors will have the opportunity to try dancing some of these dances and learn their first moves or simply improve their previous knowledge taking some of free dance lessons led by the representatives of the leading dance schools from Belgrade. \nThe lessons are starting at 19.30 and visitors can enjoy the lessons of Salsa\, Cha Cha Cha\, Samba\, Reggaeton\, Merengue\, Bachata\, Rumba\, Conga\, Kuduro\, Kizomba\, Semba. \nAt 21.00 we’ll enjoy the performance of the best latin and salsa dancers\, and at 22.30 Jovan Maljković and Balkan Salsa Band will entertain the visitors. \nThis year’s Latino marathon will be closed with the biggest DJ Latino party in the open with the performances of famous DJs that will last till late at night. \n  \nJust like previous two years\, this year’s Belgrade latino marathon is being organized by the Tourist Organization of Belgrade in cooperation with dance schools from Belgrade – Aurora\, Salsa Primera\, Vračar\, Beo Dance\, Dance Association of Belgrade and under the auspices of the Assembly of the City of Belgrad

DESCRIPTION:Traditionally the Collectors Fair is taking place on September 1st and 2nd with the beginning at 10.00 in Belgrade in Hotel Slavija\, where visitors can see diverse objects from over 120 private collections. \nFans of philately\, numismatics\, phaleristics and old weapons have an opportunity to see and complete their collections with objects of extraordinary value such as stamps\, coins and banknotes\, medals\, badges\, sabers\, old pistols… \nBesides these traditional collecting items\, antique and vintage furniture\, antique pottery\, objects of silver\, ceramics\, porcelain and crystal\, costumes and uniforms\, old watches and jewelry\, antique books\, paintings\, icons and many other unique items will be exhibited at the Collectors Fair. \nThe Collectors Fair is being organized several times a year in order to preserve cultural and artistic treasures of Serbia. SUMMARY:Ljubičevo Horse Games
DESCRIPTION:The 49th Ljubičevo Horse Games is being organized on September 1st and 2nd at the hippodrome in Požarevac where modern knights and horsemen are going to engage into a “duel” at racetrack. \nThe program starts with the ceremonial parade of participants in the “Games on the streets of Požarevac”. Competitors will compete in several disciplines: Ljubičevo all-round competition\, throwing spiked club\, archery competition\, courier riding\, spear and sward competition. \nThe winner of the competition\, with the highest number of points\, wins the title “Knight of Ljubičevo”\, red knight’s cape and a sword on which a Chivalry motto is engraved: “Do not pull me without a cause – do not put me back without honor!” \nBesides galloping\, jumping and horse training\, visitors can also see the traditional attraction – children presenting the beginners’ exercises in horse riding for kids from the age of two to seven. Besides these events\, animal lovers can enjoy the horse and small animal exhibition. \nFlat race – “Ljubičevo Cup” is the central race and event of the manifestation\, in which best horses are competing as a test of speed\, stamina\, and jockey’s skills. \nSince 1964 Ljubičevo Horse Games have been organized each year on the first weekend in September. The Games originate from the long tradition of Ljubičevo stables – one of the oldest stables in Serbia. It is believed that Princess Ljubica wanted to build a residence far from city pollution for her oldest son Milan who was often ill. Prince Miloš gave order to plant an alley of oaks following the road from the estate to Požarevac. A residence and several stables were also built. And Ljubičevo stables were founded there\, on that estate that the Prince later gave away to the state. The name Ljubicevo was given by Prince Mihailo\, in memory of his mother\, Princess Ljubica.

SUMMARY:Danubefest 2012
DESCRIPTION:The second in a row “Danubefest” which promotes the culture of the Danube\, is held from the 31st of August until the 11th of September on numerous locations in the Belgrade fortress\, and offers the audience stage\, film\, music\, exhibits and book promotions. \nDunafest starts and ends with the “Poslednja plovodba Rige od Fere”(The last sail of Rigas Feraios)\, performance directed by Nebojša Bradić\, while on the 6th of September within the program devoted to ancient Belgrade\, the audience has the opportunity to see the performance “Eneida” (Aeneid) directed by Vlada Kerošević. \nBeside the short films about the Danube directed by students of the dramatic arts from Serbia and Germany\, the visitors can see the historic exhibition “Metamorfoze Beograda” (Metamorphosis of Belgrade) as well as the exibitions “Dunav u Austriji” (The Danube in Austria) and “Podunavljem Srbije sa Feliksom Kanicom” (Sailing in the Danube rivers basin of Serbia with Felix Kanitz). \nThe music part of the program is being held in the powder mill the performers are “Triad Vibrations” a jazz group from Italy\, “Vojasa” whose music has elements of Roma music with a specific Hungarian spirit\, Eugene Chadbourne a New York guitarist\, improviser and composer\, as well as the Serbian band “Serbian Jazz\, bre band”. \nConversations about the books “Planeta Dunav” (Planet Danube) by Ljubomir Simović and “Pet dunavskih čuda” (The five Danube miracles) by Zoran Živković were announced. \nAmong the visitors the fashion lovers can be the first to see the show by “Eksperiment SO” of fashion designer Dragana Ognjenović\, whose premier will be held in Maribor\, the European capital of culture in 2012. \nAs a part of the Serbian initiative for the Danube strategy\, “Danubefest” was founded in 2011 so it could promote the cultural heritage of the Danube countries and in the next few years advance the cooperation in the field of cultural and monumental heritage through cultural creativity.

SUMMARY:Slowly across Serbia - Oldtimers Rally
DESCRIPTION:The first oldtimers rally “Lagano Srbijom” (Slowly across Serbia) through Western Serbia is taking place from August 31st till September 2nd with the aim to promote tourism and safe driving\, according to the organizers. \nThe Start of the Rally is scheduled for August 31st at 8.00 in front of the Municipality of Obrenovac\, while the participants of the Rally are expected in Belgrade on September 2nd. \nDriving through beautiful scenery of Western Serbia\, participants of the Rally will have the opportunity to break away from oblivion a piece of automotive history. Fifteen crews are taking place in the Rally\, including the one in the first Serbian bus from 1946. The first “Mercedes”\, “Ford” and “Buick”\, as well as two motorcycles dating from the middle of the past century are also taking place in the Rally. \nThe Rally route is 416 kilometers long and it is passing through nine cities and municipalities: Obrenovac\, Ub\, Osečina\, Valjevo\, Kosjerić\, Požega\, Arilje and Ivanjica. \nOn this occasion cities and municipalities\, hosts of the Rally\, will join the promotion of the significant local manifestations such as “Obrenovačko leto” (Summer in Obrenovac)\, “Sajam šljiva” (Plum Fair) in Osečina and “Nušićijada” in Ivanjica. \nThe organizers are planning for the next year’s Rally to take an international form with larger number of participants. \nThe Rally is organized by the magazine “Turistički putokaz” and Classic cars club Beograd in collaboration with the municipalities of Obrenovac\, Osečina and Ivanjica. \n

DESCRIPTION:Collage festival or Cultural festival “Nušićijada” is being organized from August 31st till September 2nd in the town of Ivanjica. The Festival features theatre plays\, concerts of classic\, traditional\, electro\, rock\, blues and ethno music\, different performances\, exhibitions\, interactive workshops. \nThe rich and exciting program of “Nušićijada” during all three days of the Festival starts at noon and lasts till late at night. \n“Nušićijada” was founded in 1969 as a Yugoslav Comedy Film Festival in Ivanjica. Manifestation inspired by life and work of Branislav Nušić – Nušićijada\, is a spiritual response of later generations to the image of Serbian village and its mentality recorded by this legend of Serbian culture from the early 20th century\, today a classic of national literature\, in his prose and dramatic works.

SUMMARY:European challenge in mountain skateboard
DESCRIPTION:This year’s “European challenge in mountain skateboard“ is taking place from August 31st till September 1st on the Bukovac trail on Fruška Gora. The event is organized by the “ATB” Club and it is expected to gather numerous local and foreign contesters. \nExtreme sport junkies and passionate skaters will have to face another challenge\, the European challenge in mountain skateboard that takes place on the Bukovac trail that is considered to be one of the more difficult trails. For its prepositions\, this 700 meters long trail is one of the top world mountain skateboard trails. \nTrainings and qualification races are planned for the first day of the competition\, while Saturday\, September 1st\, is reserved for the main event of the competition. It will include elimination races followed by the announcement of the winners in men’s\, women’s\, master and junior category according to the overall placement. \nAfter the races\, skaters will have the opportunity to show their skills in freestyle rides\, and the winners will be announced in Big air and Best trick competitions. \nTill now competitors from Germany\, France\, Czech Republic\, Slovenia\, Poland\, Russia\, Hungary\, Romania\, and of course Serbia had the opportunity to prove themselves at this competition. \nThis competition is dedicated to the mountain board that was created in the middle of the 90-ties of the last century from the snowboarders’ idea to enjoy riding even during the hot summer months. First mountain boards were created by combining a snowboard and a skateboard and they could be ridden on different tracks. \n

SUMMARY:Exhibition "Poetics and the faith of the 20th century"
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Poetics and the fate of the 20th century” from the Art Collection of the Army Hall of Serbia is being opened on August 30th at 19.00 at the Salon of the National Museum of Zrenjanin. \nThis exhibition represents a selection of works from the Art Collection of the Army Hall of Serbia that has more than 1\,500 showpieces\, and the exhibition itself presents 46 significant art pieces created during the 20th century. \nVisitors will have the opportunity to see works by 39 artists from the former Yugoslavia\, among which are works by Vlah Bukovac\, Jovan Bijelić\, Ljuba Babić\, Lazar Vujaklija\, Ljuba Ivanović\, Petar Lubarda\, Peđa Milosavljević\, Miodrag B. DESCRIPTION:Skatepark at Ušće is becoming the HIP HOP culture hub at the three days festival taking place from August 30th till September 1st. \nThe second HIP HOP festival is being organized in order to introduce visitors to the elements of HIP HOP culture\, creation and development of this popular culture\, with guest performances of legends of local and world HIP HOP scene. \nThis year’s festival will host 50 local musicians and 4 top world musicians. SUMMARY:Leskovac Grill Festival 2012
DESCRIPTION:This years Leskovac Grill Festival (Leskovačka Roštiljijada) is being held from the 27th of August to the 2nd os September in the centre of Leskovac at Široka Čaršija and the Liberation Boulevard (Bulevar oslobođenja). \nThis traditional festival of meat and grill is accompanied by concerts of famous Serbian bands and performers. \nThe traditional competition in making the world’s largest Pljeskavica (a circular dish made from minced meat and fried on the grill) is being held this year as well\, and the goal is to break last years Guinness world record\, when a pljeskavica which weighted 53kg\, was 2.6cm thick and 138cm wide was made. \nThe experts hope they will be able to make 55kg pljeskavica this year. \nVisitors will be able to try the tastiest Leskovac-made pljeskavica\, made of red beef\, which are famous for not having any additives or extra seasoning – just salt. \nExept for the Leskovac-made pljeskavica\, on the 32 stands culinary magic will be displayed by chefs from Čačak\, Vojvodina\, Belgrade\, Macedonia and Bulgaria. \nAfter the grand opening ceremony\, Vlatko Stefanovski\, a guitar virtuosso\, will perform\, and in the following days the audience will be entartained by the rock band Kerber\, pop and traditional music singer Biljana Krstić\, as well as the folk artists Ana Bekuta\, Saša Matić and Zvezde Granda (Stars of Grand production). \nProud of their grill festival\, some people from Leskovac now living in Chicago\, made their own similar event across the ocean\, which is held from the 24th to the 26th of august in this American city. \nThe tradition of the Leskovac-made grill is more than two centuries long. Today it is not a classic grill festival like it was in the beggining \, it is a well organized event which\, besides great food\, provides a cultural and art program as well\,and of course – great fun.

SUMMARY:Šumadija Fest
DESCRIPTION:Šumadija Fest\, one of the most visited manifestations in Central Serbia that unites music\, art and sport\, takes place on August 24th and 25th at the plateau in front of “Kragujevac Fair”. SUMMARY:Eco Regatta Tamiš 2012
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd Eco Regatta Tamiš takes place from August 24th till August 26th along the stretch of river Tamiš from the town of Pančevo and the confluence of the Tamiš into the Danube to Opovo\, and it will gather old and new participants of the regatta\, river admirers and experienced “river wolfs”. \nEncouraged by the initiative to restore the Tamiš’s status of a waterway\, the organizers of this regatta initiated a manifestation that aims to raise people’s awareness about the importance of protection of the Tamiš and the entire Danube Basin. \nOrganizers expect this year’s regatta to attract larger number of participants\, since the regatta in last two years attracted lots of attention of boaters and river admirers. \nThe regatta will start with the gathering of participants in Pančevo and the vessels will set off between 10 and 11 AM. The participants of the regatta will carry regatta symbols and promotional material that will be distributed along the way. \nDuring the regatta\, the participants will support the aim of this manifestation by joining numerous cleaning activities of the river banks. \nSailing upstream to Opovo\, participants will have the opportunity to prove that the Tamiš can once again be a navigable river and to emphasize the importance of nautical tourism on this. \nThis initiative has included all towns and villages along the Tamiš in this eco program that aims to inspire ecological awareness of locals and emphasize the significance of protection of river course and banks. \nAfter the regatta and eco activities\, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the specialties of local fishermen with the sounds of tamburitza. \nThe Tamiš is a river of the Danube Basin that once had very live river traffic\, and during the winter season it was a winter port for boats. The former significance of the Tamiš is confirmed by the fact that once there was also a large “Fernbach“ shipyard. \n

DESCRIPTION:The 29th International Jazz Festival “Nišville 2012” is being organized in the authentic ambient of Niš Fortress from August 16th till August 19th with the guests such as jazz legends Jon Cowherd Mercy Project ft. Patitucci\, Brand New Heavies\, Lullo Meier\, Brussell Jazz Orchestra\, Lydian Sound Orchestra\, Osibisa… \nEvery evening during the Festival\, Niš Fortress will be opening its gates to numerous fans of jazz music that will enjoy four days of great festival atmosphere\, concerts\, workshops and rich side program. \nA two days festival dedicated to the “King of Roma music” born in Niš\, Šaban Bajramović\, is being organized as a unique introduction to Nišville Jazz Festival on August 14th and August 15th at the Nišava quay near the monument of this music legend. Performances of numerous local bands\, as well as diverse side program including music workshops and exhibitions\, are planned for this year. \nAlexandre Cunha Quintet from Brazil\, Dado Topic & Time after Time and Šaban Bajramović Interantional Tribute Band will pay tribute to the great Romany singer and composer with their performances on Tuesday\, 14 August\, while the band My People\, Boban and Marko Marković’s Orchestra and “No Problem Orchestra” from Italy will perform on Wednesday 15th August. \nFree music workshops for Music Academy and Music School students are being organized on different locations across the town. Here students have the unique opportunity to learn from prominent musicians and take lessons of piano\, guitar\, bass\, drums\, brass and woodwind instruments. \nThe Festival is the unique Jazz festival with the longest tradition in Southeastern Europe and its significance was also recognized by the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Serbia that designated it as a cultural event of national significance. According to numerous critics and connoisseurs of jazz music\, Ponty is considered to be a pioneer and undisputed virtuosos of the violin\, who was awarded the “Jazz Legend” award at the big Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland in 2011. The Brand New Heavies\, founded in 1985 by drummer/keyboardist Jan Kincaid\, guitarist Simon Bartholomey and bassist/keyboardist Andrew Leavy\, over the years has built a cult status on the London club scene and have released 10 studio albums. SUMMARY:Kontra kvartet (Contra Quartet) at "Novi Sad Music Summer"
DESCRIPTION:The Slovenian acoustic ethno band “Kontra kvartet” (Contra Quartet) will be performing within the program of “Novi Sad Music Summer” on Tuesday\, August 14th\, in the garden of “Srednješkolski dom”. They will be performing traditional Jewish Klezmer music. \n“Kontra kvartet” was founded nine years ago and the band has been performing across Slovenia and in abroad\, trying to interpret the rich sound of this specific music in the most authentic way possible. Besides performing in different concert venues\, the band often holds concerts in synagogues as well. \nThe “Novi Sad Music Summer 2012” starts on July 17th and lasts till August 24th. Besides numerous concerts of classic music and popular music\, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of salsa\, tango\, ethno\, jazz\, klezmer and latin music.
