SUMMARY:Exhibition "Artist's Film International"
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Artist’s Film International” is opened from September 21st till October 15th in the Pop-Up Gallery in Belgrade (Republic Square No. 5\, entrance trough Beoizlog). Video works of eleven artists from all over the world will be presented in the Gallery. \nThe Belgrade audience will have the opportunity to see the newest video productions from Hong Kong\, Vietnam\, SAD\, Turkey\, Italy\, England\, Argentina\, New Zealand\, Germany and Belgrade. \nSome of the artists\, whose works will be featured at the exhibition\, are: Alehandro Sesarko\, Liu Chuang\, Dan Finsel\, Ben Hagari\, Anetta Mona Chisa and Lucia Tkacova\, Sefer Memisoglu\, Djanluka and Masimilijano de Serio\, Srivana Spong\, Corin Sworn\, Ngujen Trin\, Aleksandar Jestrović Jamesdin. \nThe exhibition is the result of an international project that was launched by the Whitechapel Gallery from London\, several years ago. \nWorks of film\, animation and video artists were nominated by famous galleries worldwide\, creating an informal network of artists\, curators and institutions\, which keeps expanding.

SUMMARY:Pupin's legacy in the SANU Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin – A Creative Coordination“ by the author Aleksandra Ninković-Tašić\, is being held in the Gallery of Science and Technology of SANU (Srpska Akademija Nauka i Umetnosti\, eng. Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts – SASA) from September 11 to October 11. \nThe exhibition includes poster-boards\, pieces of rich archive material\, photographs\, and a selection of books that marked the life of the great scientist. \nDuring the 30 days of the exhibition\, visitors will be able to get to know the story of two valuable Pupin’s legacies\, but also to attend the “Pupin close up” meeting\, as well as lectures and workshops dedicated to this extraordinary man. \nMihajlo Pupin is one of the most important Serbian inventors and scientists and his many activities in the fields of science\, professorship\, promoting the establishing numerous institutions and organizations in the United States\, his political contributions\, great humanitarian work\, care his hometown Idvor\, his literary work – they all show an extensive knowledge\, selflessness\, commitment and persistence. \nThe exhibition aims to introduce and highlight the diverse heritage of Pupin whose historical role is not sufficiently marked\, considering that many of his good deeds\, enormous legacy and many other significant contributions are forgotten. \nThe exhibition is part of a project promoting the life and work of Mihajlo Pupin organized by the “Lumen Association” in cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts\, and supported by the Center for the Promotion of Science.

SUMMARY:The 78th Vukov sabor (Vuk Karadžić Festival)
DESCRIPTION:Traditional manifestation Vukov sabor (Vuk Karadžić Festival) is being held for the 78th time in Jadar\, the place of origin of Vuk Karadžić\, and it will be marked by rich cultural and art program. \nOne of the most significant manifestations in Serbia is starting on September 10th in the Vuk’s House of Culture in Loznica\, while diverse events will be presented both in Loznica\, as well as at the open stage in Tršić\, and the program lasts till Sunday\, September 16th. \nWithin the program “My city”\, taking place in Loznica\, this year the town of Kruševac is being presented with the exhibition “Život u Lazarevom gradu” (Life in Lazar’s Town) by the National Museum of Kruševac\, and the exhibition of caricatures from the Festival of humor and satire “Zlatna kaciga” (Golden helmet). \nThe program of presenting the cultural heritage and long tradition of the town of Kruševac includes the theatre play by Branislav Nušić “Put oko sveta” (Trip around the world) performed by the Kruševac Theatre. \nAccording to the organizers\, the program will be enriched by the performance of a music legend Vlatko Stefanovski who will be performing with his Trio. \nThis year’s Vukov sabor will host numerous students of Slavic studies from 65 European and world countries\, who will use this occasion to get familiar with the birthplace of our great reformer of the Serbian language\, as well as to exchange their experience with numerous visitors of the Festival. \nThis year the Institute for Literature and Art is celebrating its 50th anniversary\, so on this occasion the work of this Institute will be presented at Vukov sabor. \n  \nThe final events of the Festival are taking place at the open stage in Tršić including the guest performance of the National Theatre from Belgrade that will perform the play “Kanjoš Macedonović” directed by Vida Ognjenović\, while the speech during the final part of the manifestation will be held by Ranko Risojević\, writer from Republika Srpska. \n  \nVukov sabor is one of the most significant and most visited manifestations in our country that is each year visited by 20 to 30 thousand of visitors. Traditionally Vukov sabor is taking place in the week before the Nativity\, and the first Sabor was held on September 17th\, 1933\, on the occasion of the opening of the reconstructed Vuk’s house. \n

SUMMARY:Belgrade "Rolerijada"
DESCRIPTION:This year’s anniversary 15th Belgrade “Rolerijada” is taking place on September 9th in the very center of Belgrade gathering faithful fans of rollerblades. \nThe opening of the “Rolerijada” at 10.00 at the Republic Square is followed by numerous races reserved for competitors of all ages\, from the youngest ones to professionals. \nWith rich accompanying program “Rolerijada” will finish with special races reserved for professionals\, taking place at Terazije with the beginning at 16.00. \nTraditionally this year’s “Rolerijada” has prepared numerous challenges for all participants\, thus the Erste Bank and Wiener Städtische races are reserved for the youngest participants of “Rolerijada” up to the age 15. Older and bit more experienced ones will compete in the Blic race for adults\, while the fastest ones will show their skills in the Naxi 100 m race. \nThe novelty of this year’s “Rolerijada” is Time Zone – family relay race in which teams of four family members can participate. Alpe Adria Cup – race for professionals from home and abroad is another novelty and it is taking place at the circular track at Terazije. \nThere is a rich side program prepared for the participants with performances of numerous artists\, dance and fitness troupes. A school of rollerblades is organized for the youngest ones. \nTraditionaly the “Belgrade Rolerijada” is being organized by the Association “Belgrade Rolerijada” and under the auspices of the city’s Secretariat for Sports and Youth.

DESCRIPTION:Unique urban and adventurous challenge will test even the most prepared ones on September 8th at Urbanathon race in Belgrade. \nUrbanathlon is a race full of challenges and obstacles intended for all those willing to test their strength\, from top sportsmen to recreationists. \nThe race has two categories: Challenger category for experienced and better trained competitors and Urban category for recreationists. \nUrbanathlon race covers almost the entire city passing by some of the most significant city landmarks such as bridges\, promenades\, squares and streets where participants will be tested in orienteering\, military training\, riding a bike\, rowing across the lake\, crawling under the raised cars or crossing obstacles with tires. \nThe start of the race is at the plateau in front of the Ušće Shopping Center from where the participants will continue the race across Branko’s Bridge\, Kalemegdan\, Knez Mihailova Street\, Slavija\, Topčider\, Ada Ciganlija\, Sava quay\, Gardoš and Quay of Liberation to the finish line set at the same location as the start in front of the Ušće Shopping Center. \nEveryone interested can participate in the race minding the limited number of places in the race\, and valuable prizes are prepared for winners. \n

SUMMARY:24 Hours of Elegance 2012
DESCRIPTION:A glamorous manifestation “24 hours of elegance” dedicated to sophistication and quality is being organized for the second time on several locations in Belgrade from September 7th till September 9th. \nThe manifestation includes numerous interesting events: exhibition and parade of oldtimers\, fashion shows\, exhibitions of luxury items\, election of the most beautiful car… \nThis year’s manifestation begins on Friday\, September 7th\, at Beli Dvor (White Palace) with the opening of the exclusive exhibition of historic suits by the storied Neapolitan house of RUBINACCI – Masters of Elegance\, under the auspices of HRH Prince Petar Karadjordjević. Later that evening the book dedicated to the cars of the royal family Karadjordjević by Miroslav Milutinović will be presented at the Royal Palace. \nBelgraders will surely be most impressed with the event “Tour Historique“\, a parade of classic cars from all around the Southeastern Europe at the track around Kalemegdan. This track follows 2\,7 km of the last pre-war Formula 1 Grand Prix race held in Belgrade. The parade is taking place on Saturday\, September 8th\, starting at 10.00. \nThe rest of the day is dedicated to the exhibition of the finest models of classic cars – oldtimers from the Southeastern Europe in front of Grand Casino Belgrade. SUMMARY:Nisomnia 2012
DESCRIPTION:The Niš Nisomnia Festival is taking place on September 7th and 8th at Niš Fortress. Besides the bands that are entering the competition\, the famous band “Ritam nereda” from Novi Sad\, “Magnifico” from Ljubljana and Vudu Popaj have also confirmed their participation in the festival. \nOn Friday\, September 7th\, starting at 19.00\, film “Mi plačemo iza tamnih naočara” (We’re crying behind dark glasses) is being screened at the Niš Cultural Center\, while on Sunday\, September 8th\, visitors can see the film about the rock band “Zlatni prsti” (Golden Fingers) from Zaječar. \nThe music program starts on Friday\, September 7th\, in the trenches of the fortress when the band “Nahty” from Niš is entering the main stage at 22.00\, followed by Robert Tilly and Panorama from Subotica\, and the most famous performers that evening will be Vudu Popaj (at 23.20) and Magnifico from Slovenia (at midnight). \nTill early morning visitors of the festival will enjoy the music of Ajs Nigrutin\, Mikri\, Bvana\, Timbe and Eufrat joined under the name „Sve barabe“. \nSaturday\, September 8th is reserved for the competition when four bands – Loading\, Foreplay\, Vidon and United Kingdom of Tzarina\, are performing in front of the Nisomnia audience. \nAfter the competition\, the main stage will host the band “Zoster” from Mostar\, and the biggest star of that night is surely the legendary band “Ritam nereda” that will be performing till late at night at the main stage. \nBoth evenings have prepared also something for the fans of disco-house music on the DJ stage at the Summer Stage of the Fortress\, where local DJs Lale\, Marko Vuković and Enes will be playing the music on the first evening of the festival. On Saturday\, besides great local DJs\, we’ll also have a chance to see the performance of DJ Fugas from Barcelona.

SUMMARY:Street Artist Festival 2012
DESCRIPTION:For the twelfth time in a row\, the city of Novi Sad will host the Street Artist Festival from September 6th till September 9th. \nThe Festival opens on Thursday\, September 6th\, with the concert at Trg slobode (Liberty Square) by the international band “Playing for Change”\, a group of world renowned street musicians. \nThe members of the band became popular after the director Mark Johnson filmed a documentary in which the members of “Playing for Change” perform the song “Stand by Me” simultaneously\, each one in different surroundings\, in several countries on all five continents. \nThe director Mark Johnson will be filming parts of this year’s Festival to include in his new documentary film about the street musicians across the world\, and he is going to chose one local musician who will be included in this international family of street musicians thus making him a part of the “Playing for Change” project. \nMore than 100 performers from the entire Europe\, including eight performing troupes (mostly musicians and dancers) from different corners of Serbia\, elected after the competition for the performance at the Festival\, are performing in the official program of the Festival. \nThis year the Street Artist Festival has humanitarian character\, so all performers will give their entire incomes that will be collected in hats during each performance to the Shelter for kids who live and/or work in the street in Novi Sad. \nEighteen attractive music programs and different art performances from Spain\, Portugal\, Germany\, Austria\, Holland\, England\, Italy\, France\, Greece\, Slovenia and Croatia are prepared. \n

DESCRIPTION:The 4th International Festival of Ecology and Tourist Film Silver lake Tourfilm Festival – SILAFEST 2012 takes place on the Danube bank\, in the town of Veliko Gradište\, from September 2nd till September 8th. \nThe Festival features the competitive part of the program which is expected to have about sixty films in the official selection\, and numerous side-program manifestations on ecology and tourism. \nThe film directors from the country and abroad\, producers\, journalists\, directors of sister festivals from all around the world\, tourist workers\, and all festivalgoers\, will all have the opportunity to enjoy “Pasuljijada” – a competition in cooking “gradištanac” beans\, a competition in cooking fish broth\, fishhook and float fishing competition\, slapstick fishing with the Danube fishermen… \nAlso there are boat outings organized on the Danube\, but also a round table on ecology and regional tourist development\, as well as an educational seminar “Contemporary World Trends in Tourist Film Production”\, designed for tourist workers from Serbia. \nSILAFEST was founded in 2008\, and it is organized by the Tourist organization of Veliko Gradište. \n

SUMMARY:Air Show Batajnica 2012
DESCRIPTION:This year’s international Air Show “Batajnica 2012” is being organized within the celebration of a centennial of the aviation in Serbia and it takes place in Batajnica Airport on September 2nd with numerous guests from the region and world. \nIn 2012 the Serbian military aviation will mark a Jubilee “One Hundred Years of the Serbian military aviation” with the International Air Show organized by the Ministry of Defense as the central manifestation. \nThe Air Show is taking place from August 31st till September 3rd\, while the central event of the manifestation is reserved for Sunday\, September 2nd\, when airplanes and helicopters of the Air Force of Serbia will present to visitors in flying program and static part of the program. \nThis year’s Air Show will host numerous guests from the region and world\, and the organizers announced the display of aircrafts from Austria\, Bulgaria\, Denmark\, France\, Italy\, Montenegro\, Romania\, Russia\, Ukraine and the USA. \nBatajnica Airport will be officially opened for all visitors at 8.00\, and the flying program is scheduled for the period from 11.00 till 16.00. The display of aircrafts is opened 9-17 o’clock. \nThe rich introductory part of the program includes the display of light aircrafts and parachutes\, as well as the program reserved for model-makers.

SUMMARY:Foam Fest 2012
DESCRIPTION:Belgrade Foam Fest\, one of the most spectacular music and scene events in Serbia\, will be held on September 1st in the Arena Belgrade. Alex Gaudino and Kurd Maverick will be performing on the Main Stage. The largest Foam Festival in Europe will be announced by dozens of promotional parties around the country and the region. \nThis year Guarana Foam Fest will have over a hundred of VIP promoters\, including singers\, actors\, sportsmen and women and others. \nThis is the fourth Foam Fest held in Serbia and it was visited by more than 60\,000 people. Innovative\, the latest scene\, audio and video equipment\, lasers\, acrobatics\, live performances and unique foam spectacle with numerous “foam-falls” and “foam-guns” are just a part of 12 hours of Foam Fest. The Fest prepares something new for us every year\, but the audience and its energy are something the organizers are most proud of. \nTop world DJs like Antoine Clamaran\, Tom Novy\, Cristian Varela\, Benny Benassy\, David Morales\, Axwell\, Sebastian Ingrosso\, Sandy Rivera\, Stereo Palma\, Tsuyoshi Suzuki have described their performances at the Foam Fest like the most original moment in their carriers.

DESCRIPTION:On September 1st with the beginning at 19.00 the 3rd Belgrade latino marathon under the slogan “Let’s dance to the rhythm of the Belgrade rivers” is being organized at the plateau of the Sava port with the performances of renowned dance schools and the biggest Latino party out in the open. \nBelgrade can boast with a Latin dances scene worthy of the top international champions\, thus it’s no wonder this manifestation dedicated to Latin dances gathers great audience and passionate admirers of Latin dances and rhythms. \nAt this year’s Belgrade latino marathon we’re expecting to see around 150 dance couples from the country and abroad\, among which are top dance couples\, international and European champions. \nAlso all visitors will have the opportunity to try dancing some of these dances and learn their first moves or simply improve their previous knowledge taking some of free dance lessons led by the representatives of the leading dance schools from Belgrade. \nThe lessons are starting at 19.30 and visitors can enjoy the lessons of Salsa\, Cha Cha Cha\, Samba\, Reggaeton\, Merengue\, Bachata\, Rumba\, Conga\, Kuduro\, Kizomba\, Semba. \nAt 21.00 we’ll enjoy the performance of the best latin and salsa dancers\, and at 22.30 Jovan Maljković and Balkan Salsa Band will entertain the visitors. \nThis year’s Latino marathon will be closed with the biggest DJ Latino party in the open with the performances of famous DJs that will last till late at night. \n  \nJust like previous two years\, this year’s Belgrade latino marathon is being organized by the Tourist Organization of Belgrade in cooperation with dance schools from Belgrade – Aurora\, Salsa Primera\, Vračar\, Beo Dance\, Dance Association of Belgrade and under the auspices of the Assembly of the City of Belgrad

SUMMARY:Ljubičevo Horse Games
DESCRIPTION:The 49th Ljubičevo Horse Games is being organized on September 1st and 2nd at the hippodrome in Požarevac where modern knights and horsemen are going to engage into a “duel” at racetrack. \nThe program starts with the ceremonial parade of participants in the “Games on the streets of Požarevac”. Competitors will compete in several disciplines: Ljubičevo all-round competition\, throwing spiked club\, archery competition\, courier riding\, spear and sward competition. \nThe winner of the competition\, with the highest number of points\, wins the title “Knight of Ljubičevo”\, red knight’s cape and a sword on which a Chivalry motto is engraved: “Do not pull me without a cause – do not put me back without honor!” \nBesides galloping\, jumping and horse training\, visitors can also see the traditional attraction – children presenting the beginners’ exercises in horse riding for kids from the age of two to seven. Besides these events\, animal lovers can enjoy the horse and small animal exhibition. \nFlat race – “Ljubičevo Cup” is the central race and event of the manifestation\, in which best horses are competing as a test of speed\, stamina\, and jockey’s skills. \nSince 1964 Ljubičevo Horse Games have been organized each year on the first weekend in September. The Games originate from the long tradition of Ljubičevo stables – one of the oldest stables in Serbia. It is believed that Princess Ljubica wanted to build a residence far from city pollution for her oldest son Milan who was often ill. Prince Miloš gave order to plant an alley of oaks following the road from the estate to Požarevac. A residence and several stables were also built. And Ljubičevo stables were founded there\, on that estate that the Prince later gave away to the state. The name Ljubicevo was given by Prince Mihailo\, in memory of his mother\, Princess Ljubica.

SUMMARY:Slowly across Serbia - Oldtimers Rally
DESCRIPTION:The first oldtimers rally “Lagano Srbijom” (Slowly across Serbia) through Western Serbia is taking place from August 31st till September 2nd with the aim to promote tourism and safe driving\, according to the organizers. \nThe Start of the Rally is scheduled for August 31st at 8.00 in front of the Municipality of Obrenovac\, while the participants of the Rally are expected in Belgrade on September 2nd. \nDriving through beautiful scenery of Western Serbia\, participants of the Rally will have the opportunity to break away from oblivion a piece of automotive history. Fifteen crews are taking place in the Rally\, including the one in the first Serbian bus from 1946. The first “Mercedes”\, “Ford” and “Buick”\, as well as two motorcycles dating from the middle of the past century are also taking place in the Rally. \nThe Rally route is 416 kilometers long and it is passing through nine cities and municipalities: Obrenovac\, Ub\, Osečina\, Valjevo\, Kosjerić\, Požega\, Arilje and Ivanjica. \nOn this occasion cities and municipalities\, hosts of the Rally\, will join the promotion of the significant local manifestations such as “Obrenovačko leto” (Summer in Obrenovac)\, “Sajam šljiva” (Plum Fair) in Osečina and “Nušićijada” in Ivanjica. \nThe organizers are planning for the next year’s Rally to take an international form with larger number of participants. \nThe Rally is organized by the magazine “Turistički putokaz” and Classic cars club Beograd in collaboration with the municipalities of Obrenovac\, Osečina and Ivanjica. \n

SUMMARY:European challenge in mountain skateboard
DESCRIPTION:This year’s “European challenge in mountain skateboard“ is taking place from August 31st till September 1st on the Bukovac trail on Fruška Gora. The event is organized by the “ATB” Club and it is expected to gather numerous local and foreign contesters. \nExtreme sport junkies and passionate skaters will have to face another challenge\, the European challenge in mountain skateboard that takes place on the Bukovac trail that is considered to be one of the more difficult trails. For its prepositions\, this 700 meters long trail is one of the top world mountain skateboard trails. \nTrainings and qualification races are planned for the first day of the competition\, while Saturday\, September 1st\, is reserved for the main event of the competition. It will include elimination races followed by the announcement of the winners in men’s\, women’s\, master and junior category according to the overall placement. \nAfter the races\, skaters will have the opportunity to show their skills in freestyle rides\, and the winners will be announced in Big air and Best trick competitions. \nTill now competitors from Germany\, France\, Czech Republic\, Slovenia\, Poland\, Russia\, Hungary\, Romania\, and of course Serbia had the opportunity to prove themselves at this competition. \nThis competition is dedicated to the mountain board that was created in the middle of the 90-ties of the last century from the snowboarders’ idea to enjoy riding even during the hot summer months. First mountain boards were created by combining a snowboard and a skateboard and they could be ridden on different tracks. \n

The Festival will host the HIP HOP legend Kurtis Blow and DJ Tomekk\, the synonym for the German HIP HOP scene. \nThese two HIP HOP legends are performing on August 31st at the main stage. Two famous DJs from Munich Don Dado and Benny Bianco are performing on the first day of the festival. \nKurtis Blow is considered the HIP HOP legend and one of the most significant personas for the creation and promotion of this culture by setting the standards in RAP music. German DJ and producer Tomasz Kuklicz\, better known as DJ Tomekk\, is surely one of the most significant representatives of the German HIP HOP scene. \nSkate\, rollerblades and BMX contests\, contests in drawing graffiti and break dance will also be organized within the Festival. There will be a festival village opened with a day stage\, lectures\, workshops\, film screenings… \nTickets for this three days festival can be bought at the promotional prices till August 15th – ticket for one day is 600 RSD\, and tickets for all 3 days are 1\,600 RSD. The regular ticket is 750 RSD and the set of tickets is 1\,990 RSD.

SUMMARY:"Kultur Shock" in Belgrade
DESCRIPTION:The American lineup\, Kultur Shock\, is performing on August 29th in the Belgrade club “Lađa”. This band is unique because it puts together punk\, metal\, latino\, hip-hop\, samba and jazz and all that spiced up with music characteristic for the Balkans. \nThe band Kultur Shock which was formed in Seattle is headed by Djino Jedjević. Besides him the tradition of the Balkans is carried by another Bosnian as well as a Bulgarian guitarist. The rest of the band members are Americans. \nFormer front man of the Sarajevo Band Djino banana\, Srdjan Jedjević went from being a pop musician to becoming a punker and founded Kultur Shock in Seattle in the mid 90’s. \nThe band had many shows throughout America and Europe. DESCRIPTION:The exhibition/spatial installation “Peace” by Jelena Milo is opened for visitors from August 28th till September 9th in the Gallery of Belgrade Youth Center. \nThe opening of the exhibition is scheduled for 19.00. \nThis unique exhibition is a part of the project “Wald”\, and the topic of this work is eternal forest\, of the eternal race. \nThe exhibition includes paintings and spatial installations presenting nature as a timeless cultural phenomenon. \nThis interactive installation as the central part of the exhibition is exhibited in the very city center till September 9th and every day visitors will have the opportunity to see its unique process of change. \nelena Milo has had dozens of solo exhibitions in the country and abroad\, she participated in numerous international exhibitions and video festivals. She’s the holder of the Award Open Salon in Toronto\, as well as the Award for young artists Peek Cloppenburg in Dusseldorf.

SUMMARY:Leskovac Grill Festival 2012
DESCRIPTION:This years Leskovac Grill Festival (Leskovačka Roštiljijada) is being held from the 27th of August to the 2nd os September in the centre of Leskovac at Široka Čaršija and the Liberation Boulevard (Bulevar oslobođenja). \nThis traditional festival of meat and grill is accompanied by concerts of famous Serbian bands and performers. \nThe traditional competition in making the world’s largest Pljeskavica (a circular dish made from minced meat and fried on the grill) is being held this year as well\, and the goal is to break last years Guinness world record\, when a pljeskavica which weighted 53kg\, was 2.6cm thick and 138cm wide was made. \nThe experts hope they will be able to make 55kg pljeskavica this year. \nVisitors will be able to try the tastiest Leskovac-made pljeskavica\, made of red beef\, which are famous for not having any additives or extra seasoning – just salt. \nExept for the Leskovac-made pljeskavica\, on the 32 stands culinary magic will be displayed by chefs from Čačak\, Vojvodina\, Belgrade\, Macedonia and Bulgaria. \nAfter the grand opening ceremony\, Vlatko Stefanovski\, a guitar virtuosso\, will perform\, and in the following days the audience will be entartained by the rock band Kerber\, pop and traditional music singer Biljana Krstić\, as well as the folk artists Ana Bekuta\, Saša Matić and Zvezde Granda (Stars of Grand production). \nProud of their grill festival\, some people from Leskovac now living in Chicago\, made their own similar event across the ocean\, which is held from the 24th to the 26th of august in this American city. \nThe tradition of the Leskovac-made grill is more than two centuries long. Today it is not a classic grill festival like it was in the beggining \, it is a well organized event which\, besides great food\, provides a cultural and art program as well\,and of course – great fun.

DESCRIPTION:The unique exhibition of traditional folk arts and crafts from the eastern Serbia “Homoljski motivi” (Homolje Themes) takes place from August 27th till September 2nd. This manifestation traditionally includes performances of folk songs and dances\, exhibitions of folk arts and crafts\, contest in the preparation of traditional Homolje dishes\, contest for the most beautiful shepherdess\, exhibition of agricultural products\, and performances of famous singers and bands. \nThe second to last day of the manifestation (traditionally Saturday) is reserved for the central event that features programs dedicated to the traditional culture. SUMMARY:The 47th Niš Film Encounters
DESCRIPTION:The Summer stage in Niš will host this year’s 47th Niš Film Encounters from August 25th till August 30th. Visitors will have the opportunity to see 10 films by local directors during 5 days of the Festival. \nThis year’s Encounters will be opened by the film “Miris kiše na Balkanu” by Ljubiša Samardžić. On the first day visitors can also see the film “Zduhač znači avantura” by the director Milorad Milinković. \nDuring the following 4 evenings of the Festival films “Beli\, beli svet“\, “Beli lavovi”\, “Montevideo\, Bog te video”\, “Šišanje”\, “Neprijatelj”\, “Sestre”\, “Kako su me ukrali Nemci”\, “Zajedno” and “Cinema komunisto” will be screened at 20.30. \nThe Festival will be closed with the screening of the film “Orkestar” by Pjer Žalica. \nTickets for the 47th Niš Film Encounters can be purchased in the Niš Cultural Center and the Niš Tourist Organization. The price of individual ticket is 400 RSD\, while the tickets for all 5 evenings are 2\,000 RSD. \nFestival started back in 1966 after the initiative of the Organization of film actors of Serbia.
