DESCRIPTION:The festival extravaganza continues with the Warrior’s Dance Festival on September 15th at Kalemegdan with the eclectic and innovative line up of performers characterized by a unique sound and innovative attitude\, led by none other than the masters of electronic music – The Prodigy. \nThe fact that Serbia and Belgrade represent significant festival destinations is confirmed by the decision of the organizers of the Warrior’s Dance Festival to hold this year’s festival right here in Belgrade on September 15th starting at 17.00\, at the location specially chosen by the members of the band The Prodigy – at Kalemegdan\, Lower Town. \nThree stages – the Main Warrior’s Stage\, Take Me To The Hospital and Invadors Must Die\, flawless choice of bands led by The Prodigy and the revolutionary of new generation of electronic music – Skrillex\, British duo Chase and Status\, and supported by the local bands Eyesburn\, Ritam Nereda\, Goblini\, Petrol\, DreddUp\, all contribute to the idea of promoting new trends. \nWDF is characterized by a unique concept of the most innovative music program of our time which\, according to the organizers is based on the bold creation and the idea that favors fast\, hard beats and guitars. \nThe Prodigy will hold an exclusive concert on the main Warrior’s stage on which occasion visitors will have the opportunity to hear several new songs from their latest album with the working title “How to Steal a Jetfighter”. \nThe program on the main stage will be opened by a punk-rock-electro band Hex from Slovenia\, followed by a dark-wave-techno band Kill Me Laser from Belgrade and well familiar Croatian electro-pop-punk band Lollobrigida. \nFor the first time in Serbia we’ll have the opportunity to see the great dub step star Skrillex performing live in Belgrade. \nThis all-nighter on the main stage will be concluded with a DJ set prepared specially by the British duo Chase and Status with the support of MC Rage\, after that we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of DJs Casp and Zane Lowe. \nTake Me To The Hospital stage will host the Belgrade punk-rock band Tea Break\, the unique reggae crossover band Eyesburn\, legends of hard-punk-rock Ritam Nereda\, as well as punk band Goblini. DreddUp\, the only local industrial band\, will break ice on the second stage\, followed by the band Overdrive\, metal-core band from Zrenjanin. \n“All Punks” of the Belgrade underground hip hop scene – Bvana\, Timbe\, Ajs Negrutin (Bad Copy)\, Eufrat and Mikri (Prti Bee Gee) will be performing on the second stage. And the program on the second stage will be closed with the performance of ever more popular DJ Feed Me from England. \nRap star Sajsi MC\, DJ Damjan Eltech\, reggae legend from Jamaica Wenti Wadada\, DJ duo Dovlaman and Pips\, DJ Shpira\, Martinees Selecta and Hornsmen Coyote are the guests of the third Invaders Must Die stage. \n\n  \nThe spectacle will be complemented with art installations by the famous sculptor Aleksandar Gligorijević\, inspired by futuristic themes and made of scrap airplane parts. \nA tattoo zone will be organized at the Festival where ants\, trademarks of the band The Prodigy and the WDF will get their tattoos by the tattoo masters of the renowned Hanky Panky tattoo studio from Amsterdam. \nThe first WDF was held in Tokyo in 2009\, while the last year’s festival took place in Milton Keynes Bowl in London. \nAfter the spectaculat concerts in Belgrade (in 1995 and 2005) and performances at Exit in Novi Sad (in 2007 and 2009)\, mombers of the band The Prodigy\, initiators of the WDF\, have decided to treat local fans with this unique spectacle\, never seen before in the region. \nDue to the expected arrival of a large number of visitors from the region and beyond organizers recommend that all interested parties provide their tickets on time. SUMMARY:Red Bull Tricycles Race 2012
DESCRIPTION:The third Red Bull Tricycles Race in a row is taking place in Belgrade\, in Višnjićeva street\, on September 15th starting at noon. The unofficial slogan of the race is “Make a tricycle and hit the downhill”. \nAround 64 brave contesters will be showing their skills at the fastest track till now with their new tricycles that will have to go faster than others in order to qualify for the next round of the competition. They will be competing in teams of 4. \nThe Tricycle race is considered to be “original Serbian extreme sport” that originated from the tradition of making and riding tricycles in Belgrade during the fifties and the sixties of the last century. \nThe first Red Bull Tricycles Race was held in 2008\, and the second in 2012. At this year’s race\, Nikola Vučković\, the winner of the last race\, will be defending his champion title. Besides him\, his younger brother Miroslav\, the winner of the race in 2008\, will have the opportunity to win back the title. \nThe most interesting thing about this sport is the creativity of making tricycles. Several boards\, screws\, a steering wheel\, three small wheels\, a little bit of imagination\, courage\, skill and love for extreme sports is all you need for great fun in Dobračina street. \nBut it is also necessary to apply for the competition\, so everyone who would like to participate in this race can apply at the site www.redbull.rs. When making a tricycle\, competitors must keep in mind that the size of a tricycle must be within the dimensions 60×80 cm\, with three wheels with diameter up to 10 cm and with a steering wheel.

DESCRIPTION:The traditional manifestation Grape Harvest Days at Palić is taking place for the 23rd time at Palić on September 15th and 16th where visitors will enjoy the colorful autumn fruit\, savory tastes\, wines\, music and pleasant atmosphere at the Great Terrace and in wine and fruit alleys at Palić. \nThe program includes fruit and vegetable exhibition\, wine and grape exhibition\, handcrafts exhibition as well as rich cultural and entertaining program. \nOn Saturday\, September 15th\, an exhibition of fruit and vegetables will be opened at the Great Terrace. At the same time\, visitors can enjoy wine tastings\, and flower exhibition. \nNoon is reserved for a ceremonial parade of majorettes starting at Ženski štrand (Women’s Strand) all the way to the Great Terrace\, and the ceremonial opening of the festival\, followed by the performance of the Brass band from Subotica at the Music Pavilion. \nOn Sunday\, September 16th\, besides the rich program on the Great Terrace\, the Regatta “Grape Harvest Days” is being organized by the Regatta club “Palić”. \nThe “Grape Harvest Days” is a manifestation traditionally organized at Palić to celebrate the end of works in orchards and vineyards\, in honor of both the grape harvest as well as all autumn fruit: apples\, pears and all fruit\, thus making this manifestation stand out among numerous other similar manifestations dedicated only to grape and wine. \nEach year the manifestation is visited by 15\,000 visitors.

SUMMARY:The Days of Mokranjac 2012
DESCRIPTION:The oldest festival of choral music in Serbia\, dedicated to the famous Serbian composer and conductor Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac (1856-1914)\, is being held for the 47th time from 14th to 20th September in Negotin. \nMokranjac’s birth house in Negotin The festival opens on Friday the 14th in Mokranjac’s birth house\, and the opening oration will be performed by the youngest Serbian academician and the most performed contemporary Serbian composer – Isidora-Žebeljan. \nAfter that\, we’ll see the opening if the “Sava Šumanović” exhibition in the galery of the Cultural Center and the contest of choirs from Serbia\, Croatia\, Macedonia and Slovenia. \nOn the second day of the festival\, after the opening of a painting exhibition in the gallery of the Culture Center at 19 h\, the “Salutaris” choir from Belarus will perform. They won the last year’s festival contest of choirs. At 22h in the Music Pavilion\, the visitors will enjoy the music of Belgrade Jazz Trio with guests. \nOn Sunday\, September 16\, in the Church of the Holy Trinity\, this temple’s choirs will perform the Holy Liturgy\, while in the church of the Holy Trinity in Mokranje\, starting at 11h\, the female chamber choir of the „Mokranjac” musical school will perform. \nIn the evening\, the festival returns to the Cultural Center with two ballets: The Ballad of the Moon and A Valet’s Broom. \n  \n  \nThe Days of Mokranjac On the fourth day of the festival starting from 20h\, The Brodsky Quartet from London and Isidora Žebljan will perform in the Cultural Center. \n  \nOn Tuesday\, September 18\, the Montenegrin violinist and maestro of the London Symphony Orchestra\, Roman Simovic\, will perform starting at 20h. \n  \nThis year on the Days of Mokranjac festival\, Wednesday is reserved for The Double Bass Ensemble BASS CHOURS and the Novi Sad Big band that combines pop and jazz music. \n  \nOn the last day of the festival\, the performance of the Mokranjac String Quartet starts at 19h on the small stage of the „Krajina“ Cinema of 19 h\, \, while “The Saint Prince Lazar’s Passion” by the composer Rajko Maksimović will be performed at 21h in the Cultural Center. \n

SUMMARY:Cabbage Festival in Mrčajevci
DESCRIPTION:The 10th Cabbage Festival is taking place in Mrčajevci near Čačak from September 14th till September 16th with a competition in the preparation of the clay pot of cabbage (wedding cabbage)\, sounds of traditional music instruments\, singing and dancing. \n“Fijakerijada” (Carriage Festival) is being organized also on the first day of the Cabbage Festival\, followed by the manifestation “Obrenovanje” when numerous singers will perform aside the national ensemble “Kolo”. \nThe final competition starts on Saturday\, September 15th\, and amateurs\, foodies and top chefs are competing for Gold\, Silver and Bronze pot. \nBesides the competition in the preparation of the clay pot of cabbage\, a football match between the local football club “Orlovac” and the representation of popular singers is also announced. \nIn the evening all visitors will enjoy the concerts of Lepa Lukić and Radiša Urošević\, while numerous cultural and art manifestations\, exhibition of folk art and craft\, agricultural exhibition\, should not be missed.

SUMMARY:GrapeBall in Vršac 2012
DESCRIPTION:The Grape Harvest Days\, an old manifestation in the city of Vršac is traditionally held on the third weekend of September. This year it takes place on the 14\, 15 and 16th of September. This is the 55th edition of the event in the city that celebrates its fertile vineyards. \nThe day before\, on the 13th of September\, on the lookout near the Church of Saint Cross\, “Grožđebal” (Grape ball) will be greeted starting from 17h with free wine\, sausages and „tamburitza“ orchestras. \nThe main program starts on 14 th September from 17h when some cultural programs will be organized in the city center. Visitors will enjoy fireworks\, grapes and wine exhibition\, the concert of Croatian star Severina and a Miss Grape Harvest 2012 contest. \nOver the weekend\, there will also be a rich program for children. The young ones will enjoy a masked ball on Saturday at noon\, and in the afternoon the “Knights of wine” will take the stage . After that\, the visitors will enjoy the concert of a famous local singer Ana Štajdohar. \nOn Sunday\, 16 September\, at noon\, the attractive carnival parade will pass through the city\, after which parachutes with grapes shall be dropped from an airplane flying above the city. \nThe festival program on Gradski trg (Town Square)\, starts at 17h and ends with a concert of the Belgrade Jazz Orchestra performance. \nThe first wine exhibition in Vršac was held in 1857 in the “The two keys“ restaurant\, and the first written document about wine is from 1494. year (when Hungarian King Vladislav II paid 10.5 ducats for a barrel of wine from Vršac). \nSince then the wine from this region is widely known\, and the Vršac wine route passes through it nowadays.

SUMMARY:Royal Carnival in Banja Koviljača
DESCRIPTION:The second Royal Carnival in Banja Koviljača is being organized on September 14th in beautiful ambient of the park and numerous visitors are expected this year. \nJust like once Banja Koviljača had a regal status at the time of king Aleksandar Karadjordjević\, today it still treasures the spirit of those times long gone and long carnival tradition in our country. \nCarnival will be opened with a parade of participants through the central part of the park and symbolical balloon release\, followed by the parade of carnival troupes. \nWith first appearance of stars\, the carnival is moving to the “Kur-salon”\, great hall of the Spa\, where the Great Masked Ball will be opened and everyone present will have opportunity to show their amazing costumes. This outstanding building\, where the first casino in the Balkans was opened before the World War II\, is not to be missed. \nThe organizers are expecting a number of participants to exceed the last year’s participation of 30 troupes of majorettes from 15 countries around the world and the region. \nHow significant this carnival will be testifies the last year’s visit of the representatives of the Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC) who will be taking into consideration the inclusion of this carnival in the map of significant world carnival destinations.

SUMMARY:La MaMa cantata theatre play
DESCRIPTION:Famous New York avantgarde theatre LaMaMa is performing in Belgrade on September 13th with the beginning at 20.00\, at the hall Americana of Belgrade Youth Center. The entrance is free for all visitors. \nOn the occasion of the opening of the new-founded Studio – Performing Arts Laboratory within the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade\, the famous New York avant-garde theatre – LaMaMa is visiting Belgrade celebrating their 50th anniversary. \nThe show “La MaMa cantata” is a history of the New York avant-garde scene\, presented through the life of one of its main characters – Ellen Stuart. \nAfter the play\, on September 14th\, artists will organize a workshop with the FDA students. Further on the Studio – Performing Arts Laboratory will organize different projects including international cooperation\, seminars and workshops\, as well as research projects of the FDA students and the University of Arts. \nLa MaMa Theater was founded by the legendary Ellen Stewart in 1961 in New York. Her vision of the theatre that supports artists of all nations and cultures still today continues to grow in New York. To date La MaMa Theatre has presented over 3\,200 theatre plays and represents a significant part of the New York cultural life\, and world as well. \nEach year La MaMa produces 50 to 60 plays\, most of which are world premieres and include artists from more than 70 countries. They won over 30 Obie awards as well as numerous others significant international and American awards. \n  \nLa MaMa Theatre is well known for the internationalization of the American avant-garde. Ellen Stewart initiated and supported the creative work of numerous interesting theatre artists\, such as Bob Wilson\, Tadeusz Kantor and many others\, and she also worked with Serbian artists – Slobodanka Ceca Aleksić\, Ljubiša Ristić\, Ivana Vujić\, Sonja Vukićević.

Video works of eleven artists from all over the world will be presented in the Gallery. \nThe Belgrade audience will have the opportunity to see the newest video productions from Hong Kong\, Vietnam\, SAD\, Turkey\, Italy\, England\, Argentina\, New Zealand\, Germany and Belgrade. \nSome of the artists\, whose works will be featured at the exhibition\, are: Alehandro Sesarko\, Liu Chuang\, Dan Finsel\, Ben Hagari\, Anetta Mona Chisa and Lucia Tkacova\, Sefer Memisoglu\, Djanluka and Masimilijano de Serio\, Srivana Spong\, Corin Sworn\, Ngujen Trin\, Aleksandar Jestrović Jamesdin. \nThe exhibition is the result of an international project that was launched by the Whitechapel Gallery from London\, several years ago. \nWorks of film\, animation and video artists were nominated by famous galleries worldwide\, creating an informal network of artists\, curators and institutions\, which keeps expanding.

SUMMARY:Pupin's legacy in the SANU Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin – A Creative Coordination“ by the author Aleksandra Ninković-Tašić\, is being held in the Gallery of Science and Technology of SANU (Srpska Akademija Nauka i Umetnosti\, eng. Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts – SASA) from September 11 to October 11. \nThe exhibition includes poster-boards\, pieces of rich archive material\, photographs\, and a selection of books that marked the life of the great scientist. \nDuring the 30 days of the exhibition\, visitors will be able to get to know the story of two valuable Pupin’s legacies\, but also to attend the “Pupin close up” meeting\, as well as lectures and workshops dedicated to this extraordinary man. \nMihajlo Pupin is one of the most important Serbian inventors and scientists and his many activities in the fields of science\, professorship\, promoting the establishing numerous institutions and organizations in the United States\, his political contributions\, great humanitarian work\, care his hometown Idvor\, his literary work – they all show an extensive knowledge\, selflessness\, commitment and persistence. \nThe exhibition aims to introduce and highlight the diverse heritage of Pupin whose historical role is not sufficiently marked\, considering that many of his good deeds\, enormous legacy and many other significant contributions are forgotten. \nThe exhibition is part of a project promoting the life and work of Mihajlo Pupin organized by the “Lumen Association” in cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts\, and supported by the Center for the Promotion of Science.

DESCRIPTION:Traditional manifestation Vukov sabor (Vuk Karadžić Festival) is being held for the 78th time in Jadar\, the place of origin of Vuk Karadžić\, and it will be marked by rich cultural and art program. \nOne of the most significant manifestations in Serbia is starting on September 10th in the Vuk’s House of Culture in Loznica\, while diverse events will be presented both in Loznica\, as well as at the open stage in Tršić\, and the program lasts till Sunday\, September 16th. \nWithin the program “My city”\, taking place in Loznica\, this year the town of Kruševac is being presented with the exhibition “Život u Lazarevom gradu” (Life in Lazar’s Town) by the National Museum of Kruševac\, and the exhibition of caricatures from the Festival of humor and satire “Zlatna kaciga” (Golden helmet). \nThe program of presenting the cultural heritage and long tradition of the town of Kruševac includes the theatre play by Branislav Nušić “Put oko sveta” (Trip around the world) performed by the Kruševac Theatre. \nAccording to the organizers\, the program will be enriched by the performance of a music legend Vlatko Stefanovski who will be performing with his Trio. \nThis year’s Vukov sabor will host numerous students of Slavic studies from 65 European and world countries\, who will use this occasion to get familiar with the birthplace of our great reformer of the Serbian language\, as well as to exchange their experience with numerous visitors of the Festival. \nThis year the Institute for Literature and Art is celebrating its 50th anniversary\, so on this occasion the work of this Institute will be presented at Vukov sabor. \n  \nThe final events of the Festival are taking place at the open stage in Tršić including the guest performance of the National Theatre from Belgrade that will perform the play “Kanjoš Macedonović” directed by Vida Ognjenović\, while the speech during the final part of the manifestation will be held by Ranko Risojević\, writer from Republika Srpska. \n  \nVukov sabor is one of the most significant and most visited manifestations in our country that is each year visited by 20 to 30 thousand of visitors. Traditionally Vukov sabor is taking place in the week before the Nativity\, and the first Sabor was held on September 17th\, 1933\, on the occasion of the opening of the reconstructed Vuk’s house. \n

Older and bit more experienced ones will compete in the Blic race for adults\, while the fastest ones will show their skills in the Naxi 100 m race. \nThe novelty of this year’s “Rolerijada” is Time Zone – family relay race in which teams of four family members can participate. Alpe Adria Cup – race for professionals from home and abroad is another novelty and it is taking place at the circular track at Terazije. \nThere is a rich side program prepared for the participants with performances of numerous artists\, dance and fitness troupes. DESCRIPTION:The Niš Nisomnia Festival is taking place on September 7th and 8th at Niš Fortress. Besides the bands that are entering the competition\, the famous band “Ritam nereda” from Novi Sad\, “Magnifico” from Ljubljana and Vudu Popaj have also confirmed their participation in the festival. \nOn Friday\, September 7th\, starting at 19.00\, film “Mi plačemo iza tamnih naočara” (We’re crying behind dark glasses) is being screened at the Niš Cultural Center\, while on Sunday\, September 8th\, visitors can see the film about the rock band “Zlatni prsti” (Golden Fingers) from Zaječar. \nThe music program starts on Friday\, September 7th\, in the trenches of the fortress when the band “Nahty” from Niš is entering the main stage at 22.00\, followed by Robert Tilly and Panorama from Subotica\, and the most famous performers that evening will be Vudu Popaj (at 23.20) and Magnifico from Slovenia (at midnight). \nTill early morning visitors of the festival will enjoy the music of Ajs Nigrutin\, Mikri\, Bvana\, Timbe and Eufrat joined under the name „Sve barabe“. \nSaturday\, September 8th is reserved for the competition when four bands – Loading\, Foreplay\, Vidon and United Kingdom of Tzarina\, are performing in front of the Nisomnia audience. \nAfter the competition\, the main stage will host the band “Zoster” from Mostar\, and the biggest star of that night is surely the legendary band “Ritam nereda” that will be performing till late at night at the main stage. \nBoth evenings have prepared also something for the fans of disco-house music on the DJ stage at the Summer Stage of the Fortress\, where local DJs Lale\, Marko Vuković and Enes will be playing the music on the first evening of the festival. DESCRIPTION:For the twelfth time in a row\, the city of Novi Sad will host the Street Artist Festival from September 6th till September 9th. \nThe Festival opens on Thursday\, September 6th\, with the concert at Trg slobode (Liberty Square) by the international band “Playing for Change”\, a group of world renowned street musicians. \nThe members of the band became popular after the director Mark Johnson filmed a documentary in which the members of “Playing for Change” perform the song “Stand by Me” simultaneously\, each one in different surroundings\, in several countries on all five continents. \nThe director Mark Johnson will be filming parts of this year’s Festival to include in his new documentary film about the street musicians across the world\, and he is going to chose one local musician who will be included in this international family of street musicians thus making him a part of the “Playing for Change” project. \nMore than 100 performers from the entire Europe\, including eight performing troupes (mostly musicians and dancers) from different corners of Serbia\, elected after the competition for the performance at the Festival\, are performing in the official program of the Festival. \nThis year the Street Artist Festival has humanitarian character\, so all performers will give their entire incomes that will be collected in hats during each performance to the Shelter for kids who live and/or work in the street in Novi Sad. \nEighteen attractive music programs and different art performances from Spain\, Portugal\, Germany\, Austria\, Holland\, England\, Italy\, France\, Greece\, Slovenia and Croatia are prepared. \n

DESCRIPTION:This year’s Customer\, Corporate Electronics and Home Appliances Fair is taking place at the Belgrade Fair in the Halls 1\, 1a and 4 from September 13th till September 16th\, from 10.00 to 19.00\, except on Sunday\, September 16th\, when the Fair will be closed at 17.00. \nAccording to the organizers we can expect “bigger\, better and newer” Fair where we’ll have the opportunity to get to know some latest achievements in the field of computers and computer equipment\, consumer electronics and home appliances. \nBeside presentations of numerous exhibitors\, visitors will have the opportunity to see and purchase the latest TV\, video\, audio\, photo and telecommunication equipment and home appliances. Also visitors can discover and try some newest technologies in the specially prepared Experience zone. \nThe price ticket is 200 RSD and with each purchased ticket visitors get a special fair guide and a special fair issue of the PC PRESS magazine. \nThe Fair is organized by the company Duke&Peterson.

DESCRIPTION:Traditionally the Collectors Fair is taking place on September 1st and 2nd with the beginning at 10.00 in Belgrade in Hotel Slavija\, where visitors can see diverse objects from over 120 private collections. \nFans of philately\, numismatics\, phaleristics and old weapons have an opportunity to see and complete their collections with objects of extraordinary value such as stamps\, coins and banknotes\, medals\, badges\, sabers\, old pistols… \nBesides these traditional collecting items\, antique and vintage furniture\, antique pottery\, objects of silver\, ceramics\, porcelain and crystal\, costumes and uniforms\, old watches and jewelry\, antique books\, paintings\, icons and many other unique items will be exhibited at the Collectors Fair. \nThe Collectors Fair is being organized several times a year in order to preserve cultural and artistic treasures of Serbia. By visiting and participating in this Fair\, collectors from around the country can exchange their knowledge on antiquities as well as present their valuable collections. \nThe Fair is open for all visitors on September 1st and 2nd\, from 10.00 to 16.00\, and the price of the ticket is 100 RSD.

SUMMARY:Ljubičevo Horse Games
DESCRIPTION:The 49th Ljubičevo Horse Games is being organized on September 1st and 2nd at the hippodrome in Požarevac where modern knights and horsemen are going to engage into a “duel” at racetrack. \nThe program starts with the ceremonial parade of participants in the “Games on the streets of Požarevac”. Competitors will compete in several disciplines: Ljubičevo all-round competition\, throwing spiked club\, archery competition\, courier riding\, spear and sward competition. \nThe winner of the competition\, with the highest number of points\, wins the title “Knight of Ljubičevo”\, red knight’s cape and a sword on which a Chivalry motto is engraved: “Do not pull me without a cause – do not put me back without honor!” \nBesides galloping\, jumping and horse training\, visitors can also see the traditional attraction – children presenting the beginners’ exercises in horse riding for kids from the age of two to seven. Besides these events\, animal lovers can enjoy the horse and small animal exhibition. \nFlat race – “Ljubičevo Cup” is the central race and event of the manifestation\, in which best horses are competing as a test of speed\, stamina\, and jockey’s skills. \nSince 1964 Ljubičevo Horse Games have been organized each year on the first weekend in September. The Games originate from the long tradition of Ljubičevo stables – one of the oldest stables in Serbia. It is believed that Princess Ljubica wanted to build a residence far from city pollution for her oldest son Milan who was often ill. Prince Miloš gave order to plant an alley of oaks following the road from the estate to Požarevac. A residence and several stables were also built. And Ljubičevo stables were founded there\, on that estate that the Prince later gave away to the state. The name Ljubicevo was given by Prince Mihailo\, in memory of his mother\, Princess Ljubica.

SUMMARY:Danubefest 2012
DESCRIPTION:The second in a row “Danubefest” which promotes the culture of the Danube\, is held from the 31st of August until the 11th of September on numerous locations in the Belgrade fortress\, and offers the audience stage\, film\, music\, exhibits and book promotions. \nDunafest starts and ends with the “Poslednja plovodba Rige od Fere”(The last sail of Rigas Feraios)\, performance directed by Nebojša Bradić\, while on the 6th of September within the program devoted to ancient Belgrade\, the audience has the opportunity to see the performance “Eneida” (Aeneid) directed by Vlada Kerošević. \nBeside the short films about the Danube directed by students of the dramatic arts from Serbia and Germany\, the visitors can see the historic exhibition “Metamorfoze Beograda” (Metamorphosis of Belgrade) as well as the exibitions “Dunav u Austriji” (The Danube in Austria) and “Podunavljem Srbije sa Feliksom Kanicom” (Sailing in the Danube rivers basin of Serbia with Felix Kanitz). \nThe music part of the program is being held in the powder mill the performers are “Triad Vibrations” a jazz group from Italy\, “Vojasa” whose music has elements of Roma music with a specific Hungarian spirit\, Eugene Chadbourne a New York guitarist\, improviser and composer\, as well as the Serbian band “Serbian Jazz\, bre band”. \nConversations about the books “Planeta Dunav” (Planet Danube) by Ljubomir Simović and “Pet dunavskih čuda” (The five Danube miracles) by Zoran Živković were announced. \nAmong the visitors the fashion lovers can be the first to see the show by “Eksperiment SO” of fashion designer Dragana Ognjenović\, whose premier will be held in Maribor\, the European capital of culture in 2012. \nAs a part of the Serbian initiative for the Danube strategy\, “Danubefest” was founded in 2011 so it could promote the cultural heritage of the Danube countries and in the next few years advance the cooperation in the field of cultural and monumental heritage through cultural creativity.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s\, 9th Mud(r)ijada – BallCup Serbia is taking place from August 31st till September 2nd in the village of Lunjevica near Gornji Milanovac with a large number of guests from the country and abroad that will be preparing unique specialties with “white kidneys” (eatable animals’ testicles). \nThe Festival initiated in 2004 as a parody on the appearance of different local festivals in Serbia soon transformed into an international event and a true spectacle visited each year by a large number of guests from the country and abroad as well as competitors with their silly\, yet delicious specialties. \nTo date teams from Australia\, USA\, Israel\, South Korea\, Macedonia\, Hungary\, Brazil\, Denmark\, Holland\, Bulgaria… have participated in the competition and the special jury of eminent personalities from the country and abroad announces the winners. \nBesides the competition\, each year the Championship issues an international certificate for the bravest act carried out each year and The Ballsiest Man of the Year is chosen for that year. \nThe idea of the Festival is spending time in the nature camping\, hanging out with friends in cheerful atmosphere and with great music.

SUMMARY:Slowly across Serbia - Oldtimers Rally
DESCRIPTION:The first oldtimers rally “Lagano Srbijom” (Slowly across Serbia) through Western Serbia is taking place from August 31st till September 2nd with the aim to promote tourism and safe driving\, according to the organizers. \nThe Start of the Rally is scheduled for August 31st at 8.00 in front of the Municipality of Obrenovac\, while the participants of the Rally are expected in Belgrade on September 2nd. \nDriving through beautiful scenery of Western Serbia\, participants of the Rally will have the opportunity to break away from oblivion a piece of automotive history. Fifteen crews are taking place in the Rally\, including the one in the first Serbian bus from 1946. The first “Mercedes”\, “Ford” and “Buick”\, as well as two motorcycles dating from the middle of the past century are also taking place in the Rally. \nThe Rally route is 416 kilometers long and it is passing through nine cities and municipalities: Obrenovac\, Ub\, Osečina\, Valjevo\, Kosjerić\, Požega\, Arilje and Ivanjica. \nOn this occasion cities and municipalities\, hosts of the Rally\, will join the promotion of the significant local manifestations such as “Obrenovačko leto” (Summer in Obrenovac)\, “Sajam šljiva” (Plum Fair) in Osečina and “Nušićijada” in Ivanjica. \nThe organizers are planning for the next year’s Rally to take an international form with larger number of participants. \nThe Rally is organized by the magazine “Turistički putokaz” and Classic cars club Beograd in collaboration with the municipalities of Obrenovac\, Osečina and Ivanjica. \n
