SUMMARY:The 48th Niš Film Encounters
DESCRIPTION:The Summer stage in Niš will host this year’s 48th Niš Film Encounters from August 26th till August 31st. Visitors will have the opportunity to see 10 films by local directors during 5 days of the Festival.\nThis year’s Niš Film Encounters will be dedicated to the anniversary of the Edict of Milan. The accompanying program will include several archaeological films about the Ancient Rome. \nFestival started back in 1966 after the initiative of the Organization of film actors of Serbia. Each year the Niš Film Encounters is visited by numerous legendary actors from our country but we can’t fail to mention surely the most famous acting pair Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. \n  \nDuring the following 4 evenings of the Festival films will be screened at 20.30. \nPhoto: www.freedigitalphotos.net

SUMMARY:Vip Beach Masters 2013
DESCRIPTION:The final tournament of the Serbian beach volleyball championship – Vip Beach Masters 2013 is taking place at Ada Ciganlija from August 28th till August 31st with the participation of the best teams from the previous 9 competitions that took place in Novi Sad\, Bačka Palanka\, Bač\, Kanjiža\, Užice\, Arandjelovac\, Kraljevo\, Temerin and Veliko Gradište.\nThis year’s Championship is being organized in seven cities in Serbia\, while the final tournament is taking place in Belgrade at Ada Ciganlija where 11 female and 24 male teams are competing for the titles of champions of Serbia. \nTraditionally a free school of volleyball is being organized for the youngest ones led by the famous Serbian volleyball player and a national team player Vladimir Grbić. \nOther visitors can enjoy numerous fun program and exciting side program with music performances at Ada Ciganlija. \nThe entrance at Vip Beach Masters 2013 – Serbian beach volleyball championship is free for all visitors. \nThis Beach Volleyball Championship is being organized by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and Company Vip mobile\, General sponsor of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.

SUMMARY:Nušićijada 2013
DESCRIPTION:Collage festival or Cultural festival “Nušićijada” is being organized from August 3oth till September 1st in the town of Ivanjica. The Festival features theatre plays\, concerts of classic\, traditional\, electro\, rock\, blues and ethno music\, different performances\, exhibitions\, interactive workshops.\nThe rich and exciting program of “Nušićijada” during all three days of the Festival starts at noon and lasts till late at night. This year’s \n“Nušićijada” was founded in 1969 as a Yugoslav Comedy Film Festival in Ivanjica. Manifestation inspired by life and work of Branislav Nušić – Nušićijada\, is a spiritual response of later generations to the image of Serbian village and its mentality recorded by this legend of Serbian culture from the early 20th century\, today a classic of national literature\, in his prose and dramatic works. \n\n

SUMMARY:Ljubičevo Horse Games 2013
DESCRIPTION:The 50th Ljubičevo Horse Games will be held from August 30th till September 1st at the hippodrome in Požarevac where modern knights and horsemen are going to engage into a “duel” at racetrack.\nThe program starts with the ceremonial parade of participants in the “Games on the streets of Požarevac”. Competitors will compete in several disciplines: Ljubičevo all-round competition\, throwing spiked club\, archery competition\, courier riding\, spear and sward competition. \nThe winner of the competition\, with the highest number of points\, wins the title “Knight of Ljubičevo”\, red knight’s cape and a sword on which a Chivalry motto is engraved: “Do not pull me without a cause – do not put me back without honor!” \nBesides galloping\, jumping and horse training\, visitors can also see the traditional attraction – children presenting the beginners’ exercises in horse riding for kids from the age of two to seven. Besides these events\, animal lovers can enjoy the horse and small animal exhibition. \nFlat race – “Ljubičevo Cup” is the central race and event of the manifestation\, in which best horses are competing as a test of speed\, stamina\, and jockey’s skills. \nSince 1964 Ljubičevo Horse Games have been organized each year on the first weekend in September. The Games originate from the long tradition of Ljubičevo stables – one of the oldest stables in Serbia. It is believed that Princess Ljubica wanted to build a residence far from city pollution for her oldest son Milan who was often ill. Prince Miloš gave order to plant an alley of oaks following the road from the estate to Požarevac. A residence and several stables were also built. And Ljubičevo stables were founded there\, on that estate that the Prince later gave away to the state. The name Ljubicevo was given by Prince Mihailo\, in memory of his mother\, Princess Ljubica.
